High Water, an Excellent Artsy Explore

I've been hanging out in this sim for a week or so now, and continue to find little things I missed on prior visitis because it's loaded with stuff I love.  I met the sim owner, Morton Funk, who said it's been there for a few months but just starting to pick up in traffic.  I suggested he recommend it to the SL Destination guide as it's very worthy of editor's picks in my opinion.  At first glance it appears to be a water sim filled with various fall trees with some fantasy/art foliage mixed in and various artsy seating, poses, cuddles spots with a variety of vignettes of various type.  There are Flickr pictures enlarged and in the water, dance mats and a glass dance floor in the sky, horses you can ride or watch gallop across the sim, a glass house that is pretty cool with a bed that has many options for being in a glass house in a public sim, just saying.  Oh, and the sim is rated Moderate.   The owner didn't put a lot in the sim description, simply, "not another art collection" and his profile is not overflowing so I was expecting little reaction to my greeting or at least a man of few words, but he was very friendly, agreeable to my taking his picture and blogging the sim, and indicated he'd leave the sim up for the public /visitors to enjoy for a while.  So head on over and take some close looks.. the longer I stay the more I see and have simply become enchanted by it all.

Art on Roofs, Ziki Questi: Line and Shadow

Well known SL blogger, artist, photographer and RL performance artist, Ziki Questi, is exhibiting at Art on Roofs with her exhibit Line and Shadow. Her exhibit opened 9-19-15 and will run for about two weeks followed by an exhibit by Paola bianchi mills.  The setting for Ziki's 24 large rooftop art pieces that are available for sale as well as viewing, is the roof of the Solo Donna Community which states  it has been in SL since 2007.  Ziki writes it up best herself on her blog here: http://zikiquesti.blogspot.com/2015/09/line-and-shadow.html

I luckily received a notice and caught Midsummer Mischief at LEA2 just before it started.  The Night Theater will run it again today at 12noon and then will present a cake themed show Friday and probably yet another show Saturday in the church and then Once Upon a Saturday.  The gorgeous fall sim theme will be around until the end of September then it will change up to a darker feel for Halloween in October.  The show Saturday featured fantasy creatures and the sim is a beautiful explore.  Everyone is welcome to explore any time.    I totally loved the costumes and  setting.  Be sure to explore this area and try to catch a show.

Mfriend, Corey Segall, a fellow Flickr fan and great photographer, IM'd me and asked if I'd seen Tahiti Rae’s LEA8 Love Henry yet.  I had been over there for a Photohunt a few weeks prior but since I had crashed and was cooking and stuff at the same time decided it deserved a thorough explore, since it was super cool.  I tp'd over and we both donned the free period garb provided in the sim to explore.  He was a wealth of information about King Henry VII and Anne Boleyn and while the sim was very informative it was cool to learn from him since it was super late (or rather early) for me/my time and I was sleepy, lazy, and just rather enjoyed him giving me the info. while I relaxed and took a few pics in anticipation of blogging it.  The place has been blogged many times before but it's worth another post especially since it's only going to remain there through the end of the month.  If you haven't seen it be sure to visit.  While there you might enjoy the quest for information in various inspiring locations, learn some history, enjoy the beautiful builds and scenery and pose places, and listen to some enchanting music.   I was touched by the tragic love story about Henry and Ann and the debate as to the authenticity of a letter purported to be written by Anna to Henry in her exiled tower. Hurry over as this beautiful sim and build closes the end of the month.

SU2C  Stand up to Cancer fundraising is up and running in full force with many many live musicians in SL contributing to this cause.  Be sure to come out and hear them, enjoy the time, and donate to this worthy cause.  There are many events all over the grid and this time I'm blogging about the Lost Coconut venue where they will be hosting a date auction that starts on Sept, 25th at 10 AM SLT and runs to the 27th at 10 AM SLT.   There are some fun people up for bid and their 2 hour "date" might be a fun time hanging out, dancing, or even a performance if they are a musician.

Collin Martin and Parker Static Dual Streaming Barton Hollow

Listen to these two dual stream... JUST WOW!   I got a very late night notice these two were going to dual stream at The Voodoo Lounge.  I was late in and my CPU was SO slow as I'd been running around on high graphics for too long.  Please just listen to the sound and try not to pay too much attention to the poor quality of this unplanned video.  My poor little laptop : ( .   OK, an amazing thing about this dual streaming is that Parker can't even hear Collin while they are singing.  She has to trust that Collin is singing with her and harmonizing well.... and that he does!  Nailed it!  Thanks Collin and Parker.  Catch them individually and together all over the grid.

Circle of Friends Fall Jam at Wandering Minds Sept 13 and 14

Circle of Friends Fall Jam begins Sunday 9-13-15 and runs through 9-14-15 at the beautiful Wandering Minds sim owned by Alial Allena and designed by Alial and Lori. I met up with Alial and Tricky Licks in the sim and they advised me the sim is open to the public and to be enjoyed for the love of music.  Be sure to hang on to the landmark as this sim area will host live music and generally be an available place for live musicians, friends, and fans to hang out.  This particular event is a fundraiser for a RL musician in need.  If you can't make the event you can still donate on the Whispering Sands Live Promotions site using the link listed below.

Requiem: A 9-11 Memorial

Ok, I'm very disappointed I missed this as the sim was full by the time I tried to get in.  But I heard from 3 reliable separate male sources they had tears in their eyes and felt there couldn't be a dry eye in the place, which says a lot for a SL event.   I did go by after the show and looked at the art and information and got a program which is really in full book format so you can get an idea from that what it was all about if interested.
