A Whymsee Thursday in Second Life

'Made the rounds tonight and one of the highlights was a Whymsee psychedelic experience with DJ Fifi Oh and particle show by Moondance Parx in their immersive special event:
at http://maps.secondlife.com/secondlife/Whymsee/76/181/2901.  Thanks to the tip from Bryn Oh.  Hmm.. wonder if Bryn and Fifi are related?  Whymsee is a dance club experience  in SL with audience-centered dance performances in regulary changing sets and events that are tons of fun.  If you want to play along, here is their FB page: https://www.facebook.com/WhymseeSL/?hc_ref=ARS1uJbyfROt18pVsSakPODWnvGDf4bNgyymDQETB6d2FoJTW4p5dAhmfVQDah_9Qi

Fantasy Faire 2016 Opens Tomorrow, 4-21-16

My favorite annual SL event opens to the public tomorrow April 21 and runs through May 1!   I have some preview items and would like to show you the Jinx poseable unicorns that come in both wearable and rezzable styles with many poses and they are low prim.  They come in a variety of magical colors.  I'm wearing last year's FF Azul fairy outfit.  I took a couple of pictures with two of them in the LEA14 sim fantasy skybox since the Fantasy Faire sims are not open yet... but soon! There are 14 sims this year: 10 shopping sims, one quest sim, one Arts & Entertainment sim, one Literary Festival sim and then the Junction that also has the Memorial and Silent Auction areas.
The Faire offers a quest "The Tale of the Exiles" this year:

Isle of View -Linden Labs Valentine's Day Sim and Events

Visit Isle of View  here: http://maps.secondlife.com/secondlife/Isle%20of%20View%202/77/87/107 or here: http://maps.secondlife.com/secondlife/Isle%20of%20View%202/128/128/107

The annual Linden Lab Valentines Day sim is open at Isle of View.   Today  Feb 12th 10 am to 2pm and again 2-4pm SLT residents can have a chance at hugging a Linden, dunking a Linden and more.  I visit every year but usually miss out on the Linden event as I work during the week day hours. One year they had the kiss the Lindens and they'd give you their teddy bears too.  Last year they had a cool boat ride and lots of freebies and when I visited today (yes I was home off work today) I noted they still have the romantic swan boat rides again. While there you can also enjoy fireworks and run through fields of botanically beautiful landscapes!  The sim windlights start out a cool dark red but I soon lightened mine up so I could have a good look at things. Try the red first though.. it's fun.

This is always a cute thing to do as a Valentine treat and this year it's even better in that you can purchase a few items for just 50L with proceeds going to Team Fox.  The Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson’s Research  Some of the items available include roses, candy hearts, bears, chocolate and more that you can send to a friend, loved one, or even yourself.

So while I was there I took a ton of pictures especially of the Lindens as I've never been in the company of so many Lindens before other than perhaps that time I hit Isle of View many years ago during this event and I didn't take pics then.

Lobby Cam Party in the Wheat Fields with Bryn Oh

Bryn Oh hosted a great party Saturday 9-5 over in Immersiva and Lobby Cam, her most recent build that is a must see immersive artsy, gamey, explorable good time that I've previously blogged here:

Bryn Oh party at Immersiva

Bryn blogged about the party and included her song play list.  Since it's rare to have an event party at Immersiva which is a highly popular immersive art sim that carries a good crowd at openings and a steady stream otherwise already, I made sure I was there for this special treat.  You can see her post with music here: http://brynoh.blogspot.com/2015/09/strange-bedfellows-music-on-immersiva.html

Lobby Cam Fields here: http://maps.secondlife.com/secondlife/Immersiva/128/128/23

Lobby cam will be open for some time yet but be sure to get on over for your chance before Bryn starts making (or putting in) something new for us to enjoy.  She reset the typically sunny rural wheat field area sim lights to a sort of bluish foggy haze that seemed to represent the coming fall season.  She's a master of setting the ambiance and picking the best windlights, and it looked very cool.  I took a few pictures in daylight lighting for comparison but the sim set windlight seemed to work for me along with the somewhat unique personally selected song play list Bryn picked out and DJ'd by John (Johannes1977).  It became a sort of star studded party with many high profile people such as Ux Hax (MetaLES), Will Burns/Aeonix (Synthetic Environment Specialist, AKA: Techy CB),  (Inara Pey (blogger and much more) Emma Portillo (Events Coordinator, blogger, etc.) Saoirseheart More (blogger, writer, podcaster)  Josie Anderton (SL Live Musician)  Bixyl Shuftan (SL Newser Editor) George Downes, Glitter Princess Destiny, Gem Sunkiller, and many many more to the extent the sim was full shortly after the party started then with some coming and going through the sets as they could. Origami, Opens Today!

Visit here: http://maps.secondlife.com/secondlife/Heiankyo/128/128/17

Visit the official web site here: http://origamiivent.blogspot.jp/

Origami
Origami, an event of Japanese culture and clothing opened today! Basically this is shopping, a very cool game, and some awesome looking sim landscaping all in one place in Japanese style.

Origami opened today for their summer shopping event and the game portion opens 7-10-15 after a slight delay. I ran over and made a direct link for my blog with a landing about in the middle of the two sections so if you go today cross the small water flow into the shopping area or if you wait for the game to open on the 19th you will be in the general area.

The shopping today is great and well decorated.   I have my cute little inexpensive lantern with me that I purchased at the event.  They have many novelty items like this, some great clothes, and a wide variety of other items with a lot of gachas too.  I'm looking forward to the game portion Friday.  Check it out.

Creepy Kawaii Fair 2015 and Tiny Giraffes

Visit here: http://maps.secondlife.com/secondlife/ZI%20Chantilly%20Dreams/128/128/24

I visited the Creepy Kawaii Fair 2015.  My friend Will Burns told me about it and a cute giraffe he got there.  I went over to check it out and sure enough there was a large crowd around the Half Deer vendor that has these little giraffes in their gachas.  They come in many styles and they move with you and kind of fidget on their own giving them a realistic cute look.  They are also resizable.  Needless to say I got several and gave a few out to special friends.   Too Kawaii.  I had to blog.... : )

Transylvania Turns 10 and Sabbian Paine Art Exhibit -Party Today 12pm SLT

Visit Transylvania here: http://maps.secondlife.com/secondlife/Transylvania/128/128/31

This month marks Transylvania's 10th anniversary with plenty of events lined up including an exhibit opening party today at 12pm SLT "World In My Eyes" by Sabbian Paine.  I snapped a couple of photos when visiting and Persia Bravin provided some info and a couple of the photos, see below.  Pretty impressive place!

"Give in to your dark side and enjoy a week of Gothic themed events as part of Transylvania’s tenth anniversary celebrations. Transylvania is now one of the oldest communities in SL and features a thriving social scene where everyone is welcome. With live music, DJ’s, masked balls and red carpet parties there is plenty to see. Runs August 7th to August 13th https://www.facebook.com/TransylvaniaSL!"

Sabbian Paine's exhibit in Transylvania is great, check it ou!
The press release states: "‘World in My Eyes’ Exhibition by Sabbian Paine
                      Opening party: Saturday 2nd August 12 - 2pm
                      Exhibition runs: 2nd - 31st August 2014
Inspired by music and song lyrics, this new exhibition by renowned SL photographer, Sabbian Paine, is emotive and visually beautiful.
Each photo reflects Sabbian’s personal vision of SL and takes the viewer on an ethereal and often surreal journey.
“My exhibition has been inspired by music, emotion and a variety of sims and atmospheres in Second Life. World in My Eyes is my vision of the world of Second Life and how the various avatars and atmospheres come together in one image to tell a story. Each piece is inspired by a song which is intended to be played as a soundtrack to help bring these surreal and dreamlike images to life.” Sabbian Paine
