Second Life Happening Things Around the Grid This Weekend and into the Week

There is so much going on around SL this weekend and coming up that I only hope I am able to make the rounds and see it all.   I will share some of the things on my to-do list here and hope to see you around! (Please click the pictures to enlarge them for more detail.)

SU2C  September 12 through 27 : SL concerts to benefit Stand Up to Cancer: Taken from Still Braveheart's blog, "Entering the Music Community's Benefit to Stand Up to Cancer we Start the the two weeks with a an amazing line up!!!  Continued each day across the grid with over 39 venues participating.  Combined with that are 179 different performers, 14 dj's, and 4 tribute bands.  Put it all together and you have a huge community coming together to make a difference in a devastating disease"

I've been to Duran Duran events many times and sometimes one or more of the RL band members will come in so let's hope for a celeb sighting! Be sure to try and wear some light pink or blue to this party.   If you can't make the event today (people are already showing up in their pink and blue and it's 8am SLT-so bound to get full fast) hang on to the landmark because this is a very cool loaded sim to explore and enjoy too.

Garden's of Absentia and LEA9 Barefoot Wanders--2 Good Explores

Their sim info reads: "For a quick walk or hours of discovery, the Gardens of Absentia has something for everyone. Home for the Pool of Hope Charity, Tribute Garden and Cancer Awareness.  Visitors can find information  on Autism, Internet Bullying and Non-Violence Against Women"  Special thanks to good friend  Makkie Riegler for showing me this beautiful sim.  A person can light a luminaire on the lake for a loved one lost to cancer.  There is a lot to the area so be sure not to miss this one.

This cool place is made for photography really and all you have to do is follow the arrows from setting to setting.  Then there are tvs around in a variety of sitting areas where if you submit your pics to Rosie Renfew or you can submit to Flickr: https://www.flickr.com/groups/2778484@N21/  she will add them to the tv loop so ppl in the sim will see them.  The blog site is here:  http://www.barefootwanders.blogspot.com/
The sim info says: "The concept of Barefoot Wanders is to make an interactive environment within SL.  Skydomes are placed around the sim where people can explore and be creative with photography.  By adding these pictures to photo domes around the sim, people can see what others have created.  Ideally creating an interactive space to share and embrace photography in SL."

I always love the annual SL Fashion for Life for several reasons.  I absolutely love to explore and the builds for this event are always great (check out artist/builder list below) the shopping is also fantastic all in one general area, and it's for a great cause, fundraising for Relay for Life/cancer research, awareness, and assistance.  I usually go back to visit many times while it's open for all of the above reasons. Please check it out.  Many people have put a lot of hard work and love into it's success.

Rock Your Rack... Models giving back fundraiser for a good cause, cancer awareness and research.  The event features exclusive Items from 31 designers with 100% of those sales going to the National Breast Cancer Foundation.  I happened in to the event when Noma Falta was singing and the MGB models where strutting their stuff on the runway with a huge crowd that maintained around 70 avs.  The sim is loaded with great merchandise, fun music and dancing and shows.  Check it all out for a good cause.
