The whole place looks like it's made up of chocolate and candies. The first shop I stopped in had a couple of adorable dollarbees including large chocolate figure props than when sat on poofed Valentines hearts and a sweet cushion with pose. There are some fun things in the shop and I bought a cute little dress that actually hands out mouth candy to those who dare touch the candies tucked away in the bosom. I moved on to enjoy some adorable pose balls and spots around the area and walked through chocolate into other buildings to pose and play including riding a candy train through a sort of Valentines tunnel of chocolate love. There are free chocolate mouth candies to be found if you are clicker like me and I found the whole experience to be quite fun. Check it out if you like chocolate or have a fun date for Valentines. I was about to leave the sim when I glanced around and saw a break in the ice in a section of the sim next to the chocolate area so I explored into the ice break and found a whole store of totally fun stuff for sale by this same maker under water/ice. Then I had to start camming the whole place and it's awesome, filled with a vareity of unique shops of fun things from landscaping to clothes to more valentines items such as chocolate trees that hand out candy. Plus there's a ton more things to play on, bike around the square, ride the penguine swing go round, and pose spots like the seat next to the mama and baby bear in the waterfall that I sat in for a while. Then I won some gestures in a game and some musical animations on the lucky board atop a small floating rock structure. A great place to visit. I went for the chocolate and found so much more! Yes that's me in the cup. ; )

Many of us have enjoyed some of the best art in SL all in one place monthly in the UWA 3D Open Art Challenge area and it's now time for the People's Choice Grand Finale. Deadline for submission is November 30, so check them all out now. Prizes listed toward the bottom of this post, but also note huge prizes just for voting. That's right great prizes for the winning artists but also for some attendees just for voting-see rules below.
I won't say what my favs are but a few that I especially enjoyed today include Fuschia Nightfire's "Sillhouettes" which I found to be an interesting concept as well as a fun exhibit to try out and "The Matter of Ideas" by Gleman Jun which also was a cool concept and fun to watch. While in my Fuschia's shadow avatar I went ahead and jumped into Nish Mip's "Turning the Tide" as it's also a piece about making a difference and I like the colors and exhibits for a picture. There is so much to see and do and I really appreciate all the artists contributions and UWA for running and sponsoring this.

LEA (Linden Endowment for the Arts) has a LOT going on in SL lately. I previously blogged about Rebeca Bashly's "Inferno" which is a must see explore in the LEA area (scroll down a few posts for info, SLurl, pics and video)
LEA also recently announced LEA has negotiated with Linden Labs to make available twenty new regions for the arts in Second Life. Four regions for exhibitions curated from LEA sandbox art, and two will be allocated through a land rush. Fourteen will be allocated by application. These regions will be awarded to selected artists for a period of five months. After the completion of five months those regions will be transferred to a new set of awardees. Recipients can be considered for a second endowment of five months. _____________________________________________________________________ Yesterday opened "The Path", an immersive collaborative exhibit that is a must see in LEA (see below) and today is the opening of "Interact" on LEA4 (see below) and also "Survey of Hyperformalists" on LEA1. LEA 3 hosts a twice weekly speed build and LEA3 continues to host Monday night Avatar games which I have previously blogged and participated in and continue to enjoy attending. Woot! The BOSL Browns are on a roll. The Browns made it to the play offs and Sunday, June 5th we were scheduled to play our first playoff game. The guys had been practising and the cheerleaders made a perfect run through of our half time routine prior to the scheduled game time then hit the sidelines to rev up the large crowd of fans that showed up. But after a short delay we were told the Browns were given the win, as the opposing team forfeited due to lack of enough players for the day. Tickets were refunded so I hope all those people get tickes for this Sunday's game. This was not our ideal way to win, but hey, we get to advance! Woot! Yesterday, May 28th, I attended the 4th rez day party for Mr. Frolic Mills. Frolic is BOSL CEO and Founder, owner of the BOSL Browns, the football team my cheer leading squad is owned by and also my boss at BOSL. The event was held at the Patch Thibaud auditorium to a crowd of over 50 and the show lineup was a list of Broadway hits.
One of the highlights for me was enjoying the talent of real life Broadway artist Tamra Hayden, known as Tamra Sands in SL, who has held lead roles in blockbusters such as Les Miserables, Cabaret, Phantom of the Opera, Fiddler On the Roof and others. I honestly was very happily surprised to learn of and hear her and kept asking myself and others around me, "Where did she come from?", as I've never seen her in SL before and her voice was so very very impressive. Other performers included one of my favorite SL dance troupes, The Dramatiques, which I have blogged a couple of times before here. Jesse Ribeiro, also a RL musician, composer, vocalist, and producer, recently bringing his music into SL, performed as well.
Various Broadways musicals were performed at the party with props, costumes, beautiful backgrounds, dances, and music including numbers from The Phantom of the Opera, Cats, Grease, The Lion King, West Side Story, Tommy, Evita and more.
The party ended with Mr. Mills, performers, and guests dancing on the stage. As expected when it involves Frolic Mills and BOSL, the party was something special in SL to remember. (Tamra RL photo from her website)

Ok, I can NOT emphasize enough how great this show is. I previously blogged about The Dramatiques premiere tour of Narnia earlier this year and I really can't say enough good things about this relatively new group. After their first tour they were nominated for the BOSL award, Best Original Project. The effects are like none I've seen in shows in SL thus far. At times the audience is also surrounded by scenery and props changing before our eyes besides what is happening on stage. The costumes, sets, music, narration, dances and choreography combine for a stunning show. I attended the first showing May 8th which was at full sim capacity. The show is free, but I've heard they are taking reservations for the next show which is May 14th and I believe this is to keep the lag down. Their May dates and group blog info is listed below. Everyone really should see this show... REALLY!

This production was inspired by Lewis Carroll's 1865 fantasy novel Alice's Adventures in Wonderland and its 1871 sequel Through the Looking-Glass, and What Alice Found There. Dellissa Kozlov plays the now nineteen-year-old Alice who, 13 years after her previous visit, returns for the first time as a young woman. She is told that she is the only one who can slay the Jabberwocky, a dragon-like creature controlled by the Red Queen who terrorizes Wonderland's inhabitants."
The show ends with narration "Just remember when you feel a little mad.. most people are, so don't be sad"--**diabolical laugh**

There are hidden places and pose balls and the landing spot sign provides a helpful notecard. The ground is way more beautiful than this shows, but I had to focus lights on the sky or ground so went with the sky for this shot because of the weird floating plant island thingys. Check this place out.
Roan, owned by my Flickr friend Wildangel, is updated with upper garden type areas and lower water and underwater areas to enjoy. This sim is gorgeous with tons of poses, dances, and things to see and do. The design of this sim was inspired in great part by the artwork of several well-known surrealist painters, mainly René Magritte and Salvador Dali, and on some designs by the famous Spanish architect Antonio Gaudi. Many of the 3D scenes you will see are my own 3D renditions of their paintings ; others are my own creations. In the Sky Gallery ( ) you will see the paintings that inspired my work.
Feel free to fly and explore. You can use the large Teleport Board at the landing point to visit different areas. There are also secret places that are not accessible via this large board. The more adventurous will have fun finding them on their own. You can also use the special doors to get to those secret places.
ZED is dedicated to romance and art in a surrealist, poetic ambiance. There are many places for chatting and dancing with your partner or friends. "Second Pool" "An installation by Oberon Onmura I created this "Second Pool" in memory of Sabrinaa Nightfire, who asked me to do a piece for her show "Enter ..." at Caerleon about a year ago. That piece turned out to be a pool, as well, different in many regards, but similar as a place of contemplation and peace.
Click the blue cubes at the corners for a transporter orb to the bottom. Watch out for the swimming things. Even though they look fragile, and many of them die before reaching their goal of escaping the pool, they can give you a strong bump if they happen to touch you.

"White Shirt is a site specific installation dealing with the personification of a white shirt," states Misprint's info. card.
Oona's note says, "Live!........was created while I was building some vintage Hi Fi record players and TVs. As with most of my work the piece emerged from a series of unconnected ideas. These may have come from a sound, or a drawing, something someone said, an image from a film or the tv ... it could have come while out walking, listening on headphones to my current favourite sound works."

Dividni Shostakovich's note says, :"The Split Screen Installation Space is part of a sim where artists and builders develop and exhibit a large installation. In general, one or two artists will use the space for two months (give or take), and then another artist will take over. The space is meant for large builds that utilize the possibilities of Second Life as an artistic or immersive medium, such as works that are impossible in real life."
Be sure to visit both installations. There is a teleport on the Split Screen kiosk near the landing point. There is also a store for the artists (who receive all proceeds).
Get out your calendar folks as something big is coming. Second Life Musicians Expo will run April 23, 24 and 25, 2011 in several sims so far including Rockcliff University who will be hosting the musicians, Calas Galedhon for special events, and Aero Pines and Moonacy for other things.
Project directors are Lillith Siamendes and Patrick Thorkveld. There will be booths for the musician's promotional goods. The event is to simply celebrate and recognize Second Life professional musicians. The residents organizing the Expo are purely volunteer and not for profit. Several bands and singers have alread signed up for this event, including Pmann and the Dark Brothers Band, Paul Nowles and the PNG Band, Bowie Bravin, and Samm Quendra to name a few.

As I'm writing this I am dancing in club Eros in sim Eros, The Eros Project, a teen made sim. The teens I ran into were very polite and helpful answering my many questions. The sim was fully made by teens in the teen grid and transferred over here to the main grid with the closing of the teen grid. This sim boasts 20 stores, 1 club, 1 competition/class area, 1 game area and 1 park.
(Photo: Kathy Nikolaidis, Heatherr Vespucciano, and Kara) I first met Heatherr Vespucciano who showed me her clothing and original tattoo store, Vee Ehs. Heatherr will also be modeling outfits from /tee/ by tallie ems touche by KARISSA! silversmith in the BOSL teen fashion show the 29th.
Next I went to the club for dancing and socializing a little. The large club rivals any adult club I've seen in SL. Eros Foehammer explained he put this sim together, brought over three dozen teens together... "the sim is supposed to be a showcase for TG talent, the best representation of what teens have to offer the main grid." I was impressed. He was very polite and answered my million questions. I told him I was excited to see what the teens had to offer and he stated, "I've found that age doesn't define much, and I'm thankful creativity doesn't begin or ends at a certain age. I know a lot of adults are negative about the merge, but it's just a fear of change. When the dust settles, I think the teen community will assimilate well into the main grid and contribute just as much as anyone else" Well stated and I totally agree. He provided some additional information about some more teen areas, "There's Eutopia, Epic which are full commercial/residential privately owned sims and Eden a park homestead sim. There are only 4 privately owned sims... Eros is one of them, I rent it from the Estate owner, and I'm GM of her other sims,...all teen, except Eutopia and Epic is open to rent for anyone. Then there's the mainland from the teen grid which still has PG rating, and all PG rated sims on the main grid."
I know there is some concern youth as young as 15 could be exposed to the SL darker side of the main grid, but lets face it, if they wanted that they could have found it anyway and LL has the sims rated so the youngsters can't access the adult and mature sims unless they do it illegally, which some did before anyway. The group of youth I met today were a polite, mature, very talented group, and I hope the teens and adults can all enjoy SL and what each has to offer together. (Photo: Club Eros, Eros on far right)
