Frolic Mills, former owner of The Best of Second Life, has self-published this kindle book, "Fabulous!" available on Amazon at the reasonable price of $8.99 RL$. The book is edited by my friend and RL author of many books and publications, Sonicity Fitzroy, and the forward is by Persia Bravin, former BOSL CEO and the BOSL magazine editor. Most people in SL will recognize these names. Mr. Mills was very active in SL with BOSL initiating and running the annual Ms. Virtual World pageants, actively involved in modeling instruction, running the annual BOSL Fashion Week, Fashion For Life, many many amazing fashion shows and competitions, RFL, various events, and the Partyticulars. He is somewhat of an SL icon.

Happy 6th Anniversary BOSL -- And Other SL Events
I've been taking a few pics from fun events around SL so might as well share them here. First I want to say happy 6th anniversary to BOSL who provides me and others with hours of great SL entertainment and information. I went to the BOSL anniversary party yesterday after the MVW challenge so the top two collages are from those, then the next is a It Girlz show from last night and the bottom is a friend's beautiful wedding from last week.

Fashion For Life-Awesome Final Events Yet To Come Today!

Fashion For Life is coming to a close later today and this amazing fundraiser for Relay For Life has raised approximately $25,000 real life dollars thus far. But Mr. Frolic Mills of BOSL just announced that he will also still be auctioning off the cover of BOSL magazine at 12 noon SLT today. This will also include an article by editor in chief Persia Bravin. The grand finale will all begin at 9am SLT today. The 9 sim builds by some of SL's top artists are amazing (see prior posts for credits and names of involved). The clothing sales and all the events have been a lot of fun. Persia Bravin has done a great job with promotion and all the organizers, bloggers, designers, and so so many people have made this a huge success. But it's not over yet! Hurry on over to the sim for the final day and don't miss out on this huge event for a great cause.

The Best of Second Life Magazine March 2013
This month March 2013 marks the month I was featured in the BOSL magazine. Writer Sonicity Fitzroy has been featuring SL machinimists for about a year now in the publication and this month I was honored to be featured as the Social Machinimist for her article. So I must brag and show off here of course. Everyone knows I'm not the greatest at this around or even in their league but I do a lot, have fun, often make them for others or to archive something, and include others a lot, so I'll take the article and rejoice in it. Soni is an amazing writer both in SL for a variety of publications and is a published author RL with numerous publications on a variety of subjects, most notably in SL for her 2 books "Second Life Media and the Other Society", and also "Machinima: The Art and Practice" (http://www.amazon.com/Machinima-The-Practice-Virtual-Filmmaking/dp/0786461713/ref=sr_1_3?ie=UTF8&qid=1362706261&sr=8-3&keywords=machinima). For 37 years The Ronald McDonald House has been providing a stable environment to families of children in need of medical treatments. Second life residents can show their support through this event and it's hoped everyone will give generously to this world wide charity. SL is hosting a fashion show that will include one of a kind designs and other items to be auctioned. Auction boards will be open for 5 hours from the opening time to allow everyone a chance to bid.

Event organizer, Michela Benazzi, had a personal experience with Ronald McDonald House services in 2009 when her 2 year old neice, Libby Claire, fell and was injured and the family utilized the RMH.
She states, "Our family learned the value of RMH personally, July 10, 2009. My niece, Libby Claire not even two years of age, took a very bad fall while on vacation. If you would like to read the story, Caringbridge holds it all.

One thing I remember from that time is the call, saying Libby may not make it. Over time I am happy to say Libby has bloomed into quite a beautiful girl. RMH will always remain precious to our family, and during the recent opening of the new Charlotte, NC RMH Libby was even asked to be a spokes model Shes appeared on billboards and a variety of advertisements.

Happy 4th Birthday BOSL -The Best of Second LIfe
The Best of Second Life just had it's 4th anniversary with the magazine edition published and released today October 1st. CEO Frolic Mills whipped up a impromptu party for staff that was a lot of fun. CottonCandy Teardrop provided great tunes as the dj for us to dance to. All the BOSL magazine covers were on blocks on the giant walls in the background. I've been writing for BOSL events/society for about a year now and it's a fun organization I'm proud to be a part of. If you are not familiar with the magazine check it out in world or online. BOSL historically is known in the virtual fashion industry but it's so much more. Mr. Mills embraces all the best of Second Life as the title states and even just the section of the magazine I assist with covers everything from music, arts and entertainment, fashion, wonderful builds and sims to explore and anything cool and fun I can find to write about. Relay For Life Closing Ceremony 2011- $369,069 USD Raised!

RFL has been blogged, Flickr'd and talked about for months, actually year round in SL, as this is an annual HUGE fundraiser. But I decided to go ahead and blog it one more time since it's such an amazing fundraiser that helps so many people in real life plus they said there were over 178 people in the area of the closing ceremony. They had 24 hours of entertainment at the RFL general track area, amazing builds, inspirational volunteers and today the closing ceremony. Thank yous were made and shout outs given to the main supporters. Team campsite awards were given out.
There were 42 sims and many builds on the sims and track area. BOSL won first place in one of the best campsite build categories. Most laps award went to jerrazia Lowel. (I'm sure I totally spelled that name wrong and they didn't say how many laps which I wonder about) MamaP Beerbaum and Dwen Dooly, organizers spoke along with others. There was a table onstage with an empty chair representing the lost ones. Honor was giving to their struggles and memory. The 2011 theme was "Seasons of Hope" and at the close of the ceremony it was stated 369,062 USD was raised by the close. Fantastic SL people.. who says we are just gamers... we are people with heart!

Summer On The Boardwalk, Adopt A Family Summer Fundraiser July 8 through 6pm SLT July 10

This event is fun for the whole family and for a good cause. I stopped in this morning to ride a few rides and enjoy some sites including a huge water tube water slide type ride, roller coaster, ferris wheels, bumper cars, fun house, gorgeous carousal, THE BIG DROP,(fun!), hot dogs, cotton candy, games and tons of prizes and much more. They also have a celebrity dunk tank that seems to be the big crowd pleaser. Some of the dunkees include: Frolic Mills, Dousa Dragonash of Metaverse Television, Supermodel Wicca Merlin, BlackBarbie Braven, Kay Fairey, Ji Nirvana, Yula Finesmith, Jessica Lyon, Honeybear Lillihook, Fauve Beaumont, Miaa Rebane, Edi Clarity, Serene Faith, Miaa Rebane, and many more.
The area has a staged fashion show area featuring Miss Virtual World 2011 Serene Faith, 2010 Miaa Rebane, and 2009 Mimmi Boa modeling exclusive gowns by Hox that are up for auction, gorgeous jewels by Finesmith, hair by 3636 and bathing suits by Shan SL.
Sunday is live music day beginning with Avantguard Frequency and ending with the amazing Miss Katia Keres ! Many mre to fill up in between .... so don't miss this weekend of fun to raise money for needy families this coming holiday season!
And like I said.. all this fun for a good cause. AAF (Adopt A Family) is hosting the Summer on the Boardwalk fundraiser benefit. Organized by Lacie Beninborough, AAF began in November of 2009, when it was brought to her attention that a family was in very dire need that year. They were in jeopardy of losing everything, the husband had just lost his job and the mother had two chronically ill children. The information note card states, "This is where AAF comes in. Our sole purpose is to help those that are struggling financially get through the holiday season. We have fundraisers throughout the year and raise money to be given out at the beginning of December.
We do our very best to ensure that the people we help are truly in need." There is a large Christmas fundraiser planned for This year to take place at the Patch Thibaud Auditorium at BOSL on December 19,2011 @ 4 pm slt. "Do not miss this spectacular show with gorgeous gowns by HOX. Hosted by Lacie Beningborough and Mr. Frolic Mills, this is an event that you do not want to miss!"

BOSL Browns Are in The Playoffs-Get Tickets for Sunday
Woot! The BOSL Browns are on a roll. The Browns made it to the play offs and Sunday, June 5th we were scheduled to play our first playoff game. The guys had been practising and the cheerleaders made a perfect run through of our half time routine prior to the scheduled game time then hit the sidelines to rev up the large crowd of fans that showed up. But after a short delay we were told the Browns were given the win, as the opposing team forfeited due to lack of enough players for the day. Tickets were refunded so I hope all those people get tickes for this Sunday's game. This was not our ideal way to win, but hey, we get to advance! Woot! So our next game is this coming Sunday, June 12th at 3pm SLT. Persia Bravin's Rez Day & May Costa Rica Influential Party
Sunday, May 29th I attended a party for one of SL's favorite media sweetie's, Persia Bravin! She was celebrating her selection as the May Costa Rica Influential and also her rez day. I think everyone in SL knows Persia, so I won't go on and on about all her accomplishments and tons of things she is involved in, as it's all over the web and I've mentioned her here several times before as well. I just wanted to save and post a few pics from her party here. The party was a smash with over 70 attendees, full at times, and constantly hopping with dj tunes by Mikee Gemini Ghost who was actually celebrating his RL birthday that day as well. It's notable Persia's actual rez day was June 1st (I think, that's close anyway). It's also notable that Blackbarbie Bravin, another of BOSL's gems who also helps run the magazine along with Persia celebrates her rez day the day after Persia, so wish them both a good one!
The beach themed party Sunday was mostly casual and swimwear at a spot in Alajuela, Costa Rica sim. Some of the many attendees were Claus Uriza, Candylicious Forster, LaPiscean Liberty, Ivy Maverick, Leila Roddenham, Dividni Shostakovich, Kikki Snowpaw, Lacy Muircastle and many others. I had a great time, but had to go RL, so I snapped some pics, wished Persia well, danced a few songs and said my hellos and goodbyes. BOSL CEO/Founder, Frolic Mills, 4th Rez Day Party
Yesterday, May 28th, I attended the 4th rez day party for Mr. Frolic Mills. Frolic is BOSL CEO and Founder, owner of the BOSL Browns, the football team my cheer leading squad is owned by and also my boss at BOSL. The event was held at the Patch Thibaud auditorium to a crowd of over 50 and the show lineup was a list of Broadway hits.
One of the highlights for me was enjoying the talent of real life Broadway artist Tamra Hayden, known as Tamra Sands in SL, who has held lead roles in blockbusters such as Les Miserables, Cabaret, Phantom of the Opera, Fiddler On the Roof and others. I honestly was very happily surprised to learn of and hear her and kept asking myself and others around me, "Where did she come from?", as I've never seen her in SL before and her voice was so very very impressive. Other performers included one of my favorite SL dance troupes, The Dramatiques, which I have blogged a couple of times before here. Jesse Ribeiro, also a RL musician, composer, vocalist, and producer, recently bringing his music into SL, performed as well.
Various Broadways musicals were performed at the party with props, costumes, beautiful backgrounds, dances, and music including numbers from The Phantom of the Opera, Cats, Grease, The Lion King, West Side Story, Tommy, Evita and more.
The party ended with Mr. Mills, performers, and guests dancing on the stage. As expected when it involves Frolic Mills and BOSL, the party was something special in SL to remember.

Club IX
Monday night April 25th was the one year anniversary party celebration of Club Nine's opening April 26th a year ago. Owner, Umberto Giano, celebrated along with a huge crowd. There were many high quality name brand free gifts and amazing drawing prizes throughout the night. Dj's Bren Betts and Azu Catteneo kept the tunes and crowd pumping. The gogo dancers lined the bar for some eye candy and the crowd was having a blast. Umberto is my Best of Second Life boss and I've known him ever since he and I were in a video by machinimist Lowe Runo (over a year ago) that was a huge success as a spin off from The Guild's "Do You Want to Date My Avatar" -previously blogged here: http://karasecondlife.blogspot.com/2010/08/guilds-new-videolowe-runo-machinima.html direct link here: LoweHere. SFL League Games -Get Your Tickets Now!
The SFL (Second Football League) was off to a great start last weekend after a somewhat lengthy pre-season. If you have been following my blog you will know that my original co-owners split and eventually disbanded following a merg. Our original team has kind of scattered to the wind but I think that was not uncommon as pre-season sorted out. The remaining 13 teams have worked hard and their time and practice should show that.

Recently I joined up with the BOSL Browns cheer squad. So the BOSL Browns seems a good fit for me at this time. Plus the ladies have very classy uniforms and I'm very excited to be joining them.
