(Promo pic above: I didn't take this one)
(E providing some entertainment for me in the middle of the forest-quite the entertainer)
If you like forests hurry on over to this exhibit before Friday when this exhibit closes. Some of the
LEA art comes and goes pretty fast and that's the case of the Giant Readwood forest at LEA6. The February LEA Full sim monthly art series, presented Artful Nature and Sea Mizin's Redwood Forest. This exhibit opened February 16th with live music and performances on the small stage in the middle of the forest. Anyone can still go get on the stage and insert their own stream. I visited with Enigmatic and he jumped up on stage and entered his stream for a short set or at least long enough for me to take his picture.
The sim has a little educational factor too as the info. note states in part: "Walk among the California Redwoods. They live and grow to a mystifying age ranging on the upside of 2000 – 3500 years. Respectively known as Coastal Redwoods and Giant Redwoods. Researchers studying these forests remind us how little we know. Such as how many hundreds of years it takes for a mature forest to provide bedding for their sprouts and seedlings. Canopy science reveals an affinity to unexpected creatures. Be sure to visit, relax and enjoy the sights, especially our visiting critters; and, of course, don't forget...watch our very own baby redwood grow to full height!"

Mingle
Visit here: http://maps.secondlife.com/secondlife/Mingle/128/128/22
(final prize room)
Tonight Enig and I found a fun little adventure called "Mingle". Their notecard in part reads: "The creators of Havenhollow proudly present its 2nd holiday installation: Mingle.
February 1st we open our interactive hud-based event. Complete the Mingle hunt with your HUD and receive access to some amazing prizes generously offered by some of your favorite designers!
Mingle encourages you to do just that! To complete some of the HUD's hunt tasks you will need to find someone to do them with! This is your chance to make memories with new friends and old.
The fun won't stop there with a transferable item gift shop to pick something up for you and your sweetheart.
If you don't have a sweetheart, you might find one at the Mingle Date Auction. Gussy up and get ready to Mingle!"

Mingle is open until Feb 28th so head on down with a date or good friend or go and try to meet some new friends. You do have to complete the tasks with someone. I also got a little hung up toward the beginning when we were to get the free cards. I didn't realize you had to wear them and have the other person touch or take them from you when they were worn.. which was similar with a chocolates situation. Other than that its' pretty easy and self explanatory from the hud and local chat. You and your partner will get to know each other a little better in a variety of ways. The hud is free btw. Rated PG.

Pranksters and Memes
A while back I suggested Strawberry Singh do one of her Monday Memes on practical jokes in Second Life, since I tend to be a fan as long as they don’t cross over into griefing or causing potential defamation, harm, or really making someone feel bad, overly embarrassed or angry. She used this practical joke idea for her meme this past Monday and I’m finally getting around to blogging it myself. See her meme list here:http://strawberrysingh.com/
I have enjoyed a few practical jokes over my time in SL and some just verge on creating a fun or nice surprise while others do qualify as a real practical joke. What spurred me to suggest this for one of Strawberry’s memes is that since I’ve been hanging around The Station and the friendly folks over there, I’ve been up to a little no good myself on occasion for fun.
*The Prank- Soon after I met sim owner Enigmatic Deir I decided he needed his place toilet papered so I went about tping his place leaving waving strips of the white stuff hanging from the ceiling and furniture and rolls of it lying all about. When I was about done two of his good friends and sim managers showed up to see, and we decided to take some “delightful” photos of the 3 of us to also leave for him. To this day one of those pics hangs in his bedroom and is also in his profile picks.
*The Revenge-E was quick with the revenge gifting each of us a crazy, deranged, blood pecking, chasing, crazy steampunk chicken. The thing is truly annoying and relentless once rezzed. Then he put one or maybe a couple of these beasts in his funhouse over at The Station here: http://maps.secondlife.com/secondlife/The%20Station/196/50/1040 and I can’t even draw a weapon quick enough to shoot that sucker. I began plotting revenge immediately.
*The Prank-The 3 of us girls left chicken feathers and pieces all over his place along with photos and a video of us doing away with his chicken demon.
*The Prank-The 3 of us girls left chicken feathers and pieces all over his place along with photos and a video of us doing away with his chicken demon.
*The Revenge-Not long after that the 3 of us girls who participated in the above pranks each rezzed into our homes only to soon find a huge amount of motion trigger explosives, that yes, exploded all over the place. Luckily I'm fast with the camera at times and caught a couple of pics of the explosion.
*After that I took to leaving special notes and once filled E’s place with over 300 balloons in the main room so that when he rezzed in he was mostly covered with poppable balloons. When he IM’d me asking if I left something in his place that he would be returning, I told him to hang on I was on my way over to help pop those suckers as I did NOT want over 300 balloons in my inventory.
*The Revenge- ok so his latest prank to me was a bit off the charts and naughty so I can’t reveal it here but now I need to think of something extra special to get him back with… anyone have any great ideas?
Over time I’ve done little pranky things to other friends, some others that come to mind are leaving porn under my neighbors office desk, parking my trike, then stack of rusted old cars, and other things in the office parking spot he so kindly made for me. Of course he was worse. Once we were in a meeting talking about very serious stuff and there was a box of truffles on the office table we sat around. The next thing I knew one was on my nose and then a few other unmentionable places. I was laughing so hard and I couldn’t get the things off me until it dawned on me to delete them as I was the one who had left them on the table in the first place. Thankfully no one else noticed. Of course it’s always easier to prank when you have rez rights and/or the other person’s build perms. Anyway, those are just a few of the fun things I remember. Let me know if you have some other cute good prank ideas.

Holiday Free Gifts and Thank You!
Holiday Free Gifts and Thank You!
Look for and click on the gift box under the steampunk tree just outside Miri's club doors.
Visit here:
http://maps.secondlife.com/secondlife/The%20Station/184/78/1040
Tis the season and all that! At this point I want to take a moment to blog a huge thank you to many people but first I want to tell you about some great gifts free for the taking. Some of the items are also transfer so might make nice gifts to re-gift to others-just in time for the holidays. Just stop over at The Station to pick them up.
The free gifts are as follows:
*-Exclusive adorable and fun new light up women's Rudolph dress and matching men's shirt (made by Sonrisa Seminario)
*-Santa Baby sexy female outfit (made by Nix Greymyst) comes with sexy and "naughty" sexy styles
*-2014 Calendar (made by yours truly) suitable for re-gifting as they are transfer/copy
*-A cool underwater full dive suit (made by Enigmatic and Sonrisa)
*-Station Sports jacket and also a fun t-shirt that says "I got serviced at The Station" (made by Sonrisa)
*-A Steampunk Christmas Story intellibook, perfect for a Christmas gift and is transfer (made by Sonicity Fitzroy) ( note I play the role of a cat in it-so have a look)
So those are the gifts...... now for the thank yous...
Most of you who know me well know I've been hanging out with a great guy Enigmatic Deir who built and owns The Station sim and so he's letting me do what I want around there which includes curating The Skywalk Art Gallery and also a little PR etc. He and sim manager Sonrisa are giving me the privilege of announcing the sim gifts above as well as offering thanks to all The Station patrons and those who have been a part of the sim's success in such a relatively short time.
First an acknowledgment and personal thank you to the sim owner who made this whole sim loaded with fun stuff to see, do, and play with, Enigmatic Deir, and also to Staryiefurio who helped organize and manage the sim and Sonrisa Seminario, sim manager who also makes many things for the sim and helps organize and coordinate on a regular basis. (note gifts above too) Ok, those were my thank yous, for these are the people who make and share, so that I and others can enjoy.
Now, a huge thanks to Miri's Club owner Mirianette and all her staff DJs, hosts and hostesses with special thanks to Nacht, Jax, and Sasha for their ongoing work and support. Moi (Me Orfan) has joined forces with Miri to coordinate club events and we are very thankful for her time and efforts in doing so.
Next we are very thankful to all those who have made the Skywalk Gallery a huge success including artists, Bryn Oh, Sina Souza, Burk Bode, Male Vansant, Zach Larsen, Chaos Richard, Josie Anderton, and Sugar Silverstar.
Thanks also to live musicians at The Station Avram Zapedzk (Av) who sings live mike at The Attic venue in The Station each Monday evening at 6pm SLT, Josie Anderton, Savannah Coronet, and AMForte Clarity who have also entertained at live events.
Thanks to Brett and Morgan Linden for adding the sim to the destination guide, BOSL magazine for the October feature, and to all those who nominated and voted for The Station in the Avi Choice awards.
Finally a HUGE thank you to all the visitors and bloggers to the sim which ultimately makes it more fun for those of us hanging around.

2013 Christmas Town-A great Explore and Shopping Area for the Holidays
2013 Christmas Town, a photo by Kara 2 on Flickr. (This promo pic taken by Laura Libery)
Visit here: http://maps.secondlife.com/secondlife/Elizabeth%20Town/128/128/22
Laura Liberty has 2013 Christmas Town open now for everyone to enjoy, so hurry on over for some holiday fun and shopping. Laura is well known for her great seasonal builds that not only provide a wide variety of products but also entertainment in her unique and fun sim builds.
This year Christmas town provides shoppers with a quaint little town filled with decorations, clothes, gifts and a wide variety of Christmas items all conveniently located in her picturesque town with old world charm. The town has some great photo spots and things to play on to, so ladies bring your men as they can really enjoy this one with you.
As you move along through town you find a huge ice castle at one end that offers single or double ice skate rides through the castle that does not appear as big as it really is due to Laura's gift for hiding her behind the scenes build areas thus maintaining some magic in my SL.
My partner Enigmatic and I donned the couples skate option zooming through some very cool castle entry on to passage through scene after scene from old to modern day classic Christmas movies complete with audio and video changes along the way.
I won't give it all away but will say this is very much worth a visit and would be great for shopping, photography, dates, and exploring. Be sure to try out her fun things to play on in town too.... you'll see what I mean when you visit : ) Have fun!

Flickr Collaborators and Posers (FCP) was a longstanding group, now mostly inactive, that comprised a large number of SL residents who met weekly Fridays and/or Sundays, accommodating various time zones over a 3 year period. The group was founded around February 2008 by Katiya who also organized many of the photo shoots. A pre-selected theme and location was arranged and announced in the in-world and Flickr groups then people would get together and pose for group shots in costumes, poses, and props fitting the selected theme and sim.
Many of the former FCP members have become exceptional SL artists and this exhibit showcases works from just a few of the “regulars” to FPC. We thank the artists contributing to this Skywalk Gallery exhibit. Last month’s exhibit “Technochory” by Bryn Oh and Sina Souza will also remain in place for an extended time. Please enjoy the exhibits and explore the entire sim.
The Station boasts a variety of fun things to explore in the sky and on ground level including 2 clubs, 2 theaters (one can be booked for free/contact sim management) many rides (various carnival rides, a human cannon that explodes shooting the rider into the air opening on a steampunk bird glider to fly around, a sling shot ride from sky to ground, trains, trolleys, a mechanical bull, floating balloons), a fun house, zeppelins, numerous hidden locations for hanging out, dates or photography, a gambling hotel with various games to play for free, stores, rentals, underwater area, freebies in various locations and much more. Look for future art exhibits, live music, and club events to come. (Sim owner/builder: Enigmatic Deir, Sim Manager: Sonrisa Seminario)

Calas Galadhon's Hauntingly Beautiful Take on Christmas This Year: "One Christmas Night"
Visit here: http://maps.secondlife.com/secondlife/SilverMyst/128/128/23
Calas Galadhon's hauntingly beautiful take on Christmas this year. "One Christmas Night"
Truck and Ty did it again. I didn't think it possible for them to top their Calas Galahdon sims but they have added "One Christmas Night" and just WOW! These guys are amazing. This is a must see sim.
Turn your lights to the suggested sim windlights in the note where you land (or default/midnight) for a very cozy night experience or pop the lights up a little to be able to see further like I did for a few photos that were a bit lighter. The feeling intended is a quiet winter night. It all starts with a smooth sleigh ride (one for up to 4 friends or another for couples) that provides a very scenic tour of the sim. It's long enough to thoroughly enjoy the ride and see all and if on the couples ride have a very romantic time. It lands you at a nice skating area near their gorgeous building that houses a large dance area, a cozy fireplace seating area (that has some nice free things if you click around), a huge huge tree with presents underneath, and the piano area for their events. Explore around and you will find cute animals roaming around, and a reindeer flying tour for singles or couples. There are also some very nice areas to sit or cuddle and intans all around that sort of look like sun dials. The sim recently opened to group members and today 11-30-13 to the public. Check it out for a super nice time.
Enigmatic Deir and I enjoyed both the reindeer tour ride as well as the beautiful sleigh ride followed by some dancing then exploring the skating area, the beautiful ballroom and events building and all the cute little areas around the sim.
(And below I snapped a shot of Truck and Ty enjoying the sim themselves!)
Winter is Coming to Second Life --Explore In The Snow! Visit Derailed
derailedsnow.jpg, a photo by Kara 2 on Flickr.
Winter is coming to SL! I am finding some very nice snowy scenes to visit and Derailed is a good example. Visit here: http://maps.secondlife.com/secondlife/Crash%20Boat/128/128/31
This sim by Denise Rowlands has a lot of fun pose spots, great scenery for pics, the trains, and a store! She said she is just switching over to winter and it's still being worked on... "It's a work in progress".. .. but really it's already fantastic. She added a sleigh rezzer, is working on slopes, there are snow mobiles behind the house, unlocked so people can ride them, and she is going to add a small skate pond, falling snow, a theater in the house, and other things. But I would never have guessed she is not finished as it's loaded with cool stuff. Enjoy.

The difference being a future where the plant is a fragile resource with humans as its caretakers. The exhibit will run from October 20 through Dec. 1 2013.
Bryn oh, a well known and loved first life artist and SL artist, is best known in SL for many creative art installations in Immersiva as well as exhibits around the grid and is a supporter of the arts. Sina Souza's most recent creative exhibit was "The Reflections of My Mind" at Nitroglobus Gallery just last month and has contributed to The Festival of Love opening this week. More artist information available at Technochory.

The Station, Grand Opening Party Monday 9-9-13
Visit here: http://maps.secondlife.com/secondlife/The%20Station/128/128/4
There is a brand new club, The Station, in Second Life with a Steampunk theme that is holding it's grand opening Monday Sept 9th, 2013. I have been running around this sim totally impressed with the build by Enigmatic Deir that has amazing textures, great scripts and animations and fun finds throughout. The sim not only has this great club, but it also has a dual theater that people can book for events for free, there's a variety of steampunk vehicles and many fun secret and not so secret areas to find that will be perfect for exploring, photography, and visiting with friends and couples. This is a great explore all the way around and the club is destined to be a hit. Their press release and opening information is as follows:
"A new stream punk rock club is opening sept 9 @ 4-10pm slt. Cj Rock Club at the Station . SL's most unique club is here with steam trains, casinos, 2 stages, a whole dead city & amp; floating city, Sling shot ride, and Rentals for u to enjoy, live here, play here, and Rock at CJS
