Franz Markstein invited me over to his sim, Serena Long Cay, to check out his sim, which reminded me it's time to blog a few more good sim explores, so here goes... and happy exploring.
Visit here: http://maps.secondlife.com/secondlife/Serena%20Long%20Cay/128/128/23
"Otium is the ideal place to relax on a beautiful and peaceful beach.
Photo, Photografy, pictures, blog, flickr, blogger, relaxing, chillout, art, nature, art exhibition, lounge, music, cuddles, friends, games"sic I found this sim by Franz to be a very beautiful and relaxing place to hang out with plenty of seating for friends to enjoy the view. I even ran into Daniel Voyager there, so that was cool. We were both in Halloween costume so a pic of us would prove nothing : )

Cool role play sim with lots of interesting scenery and great poses and animations. Sim by Rumour Ghost and Alexander Mudbuddah. This sim officially opens Nov. 1, but it appears ready and the signs say feel free to explore. Just be sure to use a OOC tag if not role playing. "Dark ADULT medieval fantasy. Freeform, low magic. Nudity and role play of a sexual nature on sim and in local chat. You are warned. Lycan, beast, human, dryad faes, wood elves, fauns, saytrs, hunters, gypsies, merchants.
***NO FURRIES, NO CHILD AVATARS.*** No dragons. No High Elves, No particle effects. No collars. No bright ball gowns. No high heels (we're not a fashion show). No demons. No magical talking animals. Keep it realistic and in theme. Low end mythology not high end fantasy."

Pumpkin For Petunia -Happy Halloween!
Visit here to read the book: http://issuu.com/soniceproductions/docs/pumpkin_for_petunia_f1
Visit here to see Soni's Flickr: http://www.flickr.com/photos/simplysoni/
My friends Sonicity Fitzroy (RL and SL published author) and Belinda Barnes have served up their 2nd children's (think everyone) book on issuu, made in Second Life. This time Soni wrote a cute children's story just in time for Halloween which makes for a nice gift to us all from them. This story has a fun unexpected ending but I won't give a spoiler, so you will have a look for yourself. Take the top link above to read it all for yourself, and maybe you will recognize some of the SL places the scenes are set in. Thanks Soni and Bel.

Homecoming: A Picture With A Story by Zach Larsen
Check out Zach's Flickr stream here: http://www.flickr.com/photos/zslarsen/10499511966/
I was honored to be asked to be part of such an adorable photo Zach set up and took of myself, CottonCandy Teardrop, Ekaterina Tolczyner, and Brandi Monroe. Zach said the picture was inspired by a real life scene he noted.

LEA20 Moving Islands Oct-Dec
Visit here: http://maps.secondlife.com/secondlife/LEA20/128/128/2
LEA site has a great deal of info. and pics here: http://lindenarts.blogspot.de/2013/10/now-open-moving-islands.html
The Cosmogony of Rafts and other improbable floating beings.
LEA 20 sim - October to December 2013
Eupalinos ugajin passed me some information on his latest installation at LEA20, Moving Islands, and I ran over for a look. This is a collection of works by various well known SL artists. Most the works are immersive and have moving parts an avatar can play in, so it's very fun.

Very nice sim with much to see!

The Dead City is home to Chev's Attic open mic club, The Old Orpheum Theater, The Dead City Hotel and Casino, an underground aquarium dance floor, the human cannonball ride that opens into a steampunk bird glider, Dead City Trolleys, underwater diving area, Greedy gaming hall, balloons (some with special places for relaxing, etc. with friends or couples), rooms and shops, some cool freebies such as scuba gear to be found, and plenty of other places and things to see and explore. Burn 2, October 19-27 Cargo Cult
Visit the official Burn 2 website here: http://www.burn2.org/
I was privileged enough to gain entry into Burn 2 press day today. I'm super tired right now and need to get to bed but wanted to at least get a little info. out about it. Burn 2 opens Saturday 10-19 and will run through the 27th. The theme this year is "Cargo Cult".
(A few of the pics I took during press day at Burn 2, 2013)
First I recommend just going to the Burn 2 official site (link at top) as it provides a list of builders and direct links to their exhibits. They give the history of the RL Burning Man event, as well as how Second Life became involved in this annual event. There will be many events and the exhibits are always very fun to see.
Highlights are always of course, the man, who literally gets burned at the end, and this year they have a pretty impressive temple. The Temple was built by Midori Rotaru and Zorch Voom, with scripter Cammi Hudson helping with the censer. Skye Silverweb said, " the censer will be in place starting that day, to collect the messages left for friends, loved ones, estranged ones and those gone beyond. These are filled with surprisingly powerful emotions ranging from grief to anger to discovery to love and hope, and just before the Temple is burned on the last night of the festival, these messages are read out in local chat. Incredibly spiritual - and healing - when the Burn commences." There is so much to see and do it's almost overwhelming, in a good way : ). Check it out Saturday and the following week.
It seems there are a lot of pigs around this year. I saw fun vehicles as usual, freebies, and it's always a great time hanging out, dancing and socializing with the builders and attendees at Burn 2.

Second Life Enquirer Masquerade Ball
Lanai Jerrico handed out invites to The Second Life Enquirer masquerade ball held last night. I landed on the red carpet to a group of paparazzi and walked the red carpet to join the large crowd of SLE staff and many beautifully dressed mostly media-type guests in masks mingling and dancing and joining in games and prize drawings. It was a great time and I even walked away with one of the many fine prizes provided by SLE and sponsors. I won a gift card to Sky Manor Resort that I'm really looking forward to redeeming. The Second Life Enquirer offers the latest news and information in SL -see here: http://www.slenquirer.com/
