Fade Away, by Cica ghost

This is another cool Cica build that opened May 5th. I found it on the SL destination guide and there is a comment there by Andrew Carvin that states in part....: "the ripples/effects we leave in our wake.Touching places, touching people. Leaving behind little pieces of ourselves to remind others we once were." I like this thought. 

And so in this monochromatic sim, under a grey misty sky, and over a cracked dry landscape, the main character seems to fade in and out .. there seems to be symbolized by the ticking clocks and I'm not exactly sure what all is going on here with some creepy trees outside the bedroom window and other interesting things that I'm sure are filled with symbolism, Perhaps death is waiting for the main character to fade away.  Check it out for yourself and decide.. ..

Also the title is taken from a Bob Dylan song  ....."Some people seem to fade away but then when they are truly gone, it's like they didn't fade away at all. - Bob Dylan"

Triple Streaming Gina, Gab, and Toxie

Fantastic Three, Toxic Trio, Music a' Trois, Threeplayers, Triple Treble Trouble.... 4-30-17 update: Word is in that The Fairelands will be open for shopping, hunting, exploring, picture taking, and spontaneous partying through May 4th! Sunday April 30th is our last full scheduled day full of events. On Monday we'll have a six-hour closing party of relaxed hanging out. After that there will be no organized events (although impromptu parties might sprout up), but the Fairelands stay open for visitors until Lindens take them back from us.
As long as the Fairelands are here, the quest is playable and shopping and exploring encouraged.

The Fantasy Faire opens 4-20-17 and will run through the end of the month. Check their web page for event schedule, sim and store info.  There are 15 regions including a quest and entertainment area as well as the 13 unique and super cool main sim areas to explore and shop.  The event benefits Relay for Life.  I took a few pics and more are on my Flickr, but go see for yourself..  This is my fav SL annual event and they continue to impress!

Light Thoughts 3 at Lea 21 by Mario Helstein

This sim opened today and was featured on the SL Destination guide saying: "Light Thoughts 3 is an exhibition of mesh and prim forms, lights, effects and innovative scripting. This LEA sim is a stimulating example of artistic creation and technical scripting and innovation in Second Life."

The sim is filled with cool lighted 3d creations to explore and looks great in the dark natural windlight setting.  My favorite part is the rotating bubble wand Ferris wheel. Thing move and glow.Check it out.

Haveit Neox's "Bleeding Books"

Be sure to visit all 3 sky platform areas and the ground level fortress where you will see books bleeding letters, a sort of cages/prison area, fortress ruins, etc.

Haveit's exhibit info.states: "“It is a story in my ongoing series on abuse as seen through the lens of language,” Haveit says of the piece. “What happens when knowledge is so disrespected that it is freely contaminated with doses of falsehood? There are avenues to properly sort facts in this information age, yet we easily turn a blind eye to certain evidence if it goes counter to our beliefs – even when our choices may cause immeasurable harm.”

"‘Bleeding Books’ begins in the sky, and drops to the large fortress at ground level. It is a story in my ongoing series on abuse as seen through the lens of language. What happens when knowledge is so disrespected that it is freely contaminated with doses of falsehood? There are avenues to properly sort facts in this information age, yet we easily turn a blind eye to certain evidence if it goes counter to our beliefs – even when our choices may cause immeasurable harm. In the exhibit, the texts of books bleed falling letters of the alphabet, for they can no longer contain any structure of value’."

This exhibit will be open through the end of April, but keep an eye on this art space as more new things are always in the works.

Virtual Worlds Best Practices in Education officially opens 3-29-17.  Be sure to check out their official web site for conference session and events dates and times and all their info.  I took a sneak peek at press day and grabbed a few photos.  There is an Under The Sea mermaid area near the events stage area and you can pick up some cool free gifts including mermaid and merman outfits, AOs and more and the extended underwater areas are beautiful and make for great exploring. So besides learning a few things you can also enjoy the scenery and events.
