Haveit Neox's "Bleeding Books"

Visit Bleeding Books by Haveit Neox at Split Screen Installation Space here: http://maps.secondlife.com/secondlife/Amra/51/129/130

I visited the opening party at Split Screen for this large immersive build by Haveit a while back and took a few pics at the party to share here. For more info. check out SS owner/curator Dividni Shostakovich's blog here: https://dividni.blogspot.com/2017/03/haveit-neox-bleeding-books.html

Be sure to visit all 3 sky platform areas and the ground level fortress where you will see books bleeding letters, a sort of cages/prison area, fortress ruins, etc.

Haveit's exhibit info.states: "“It is a story in my ongoing series on abuse as seen through the lens of language,” Haveit says of the piece. “What happens when knowledge is so disrespected that it is freely contaminated with doses of falsehood? There are avenues to properly sort facts in this information age, yet we easily turn a blind eye to certain evidence if it goes counter to our beliefs – even when our choices may cause immeasurable harm.”

"‘Bleeding Books’ begins in the sky, and drops to the large fortress at ground level. It is a story in my ongoing series on abuse as seen through the lens of language. What happens when knowledge is so disrespected that it is freely contaminated with doses of falsehood? There are avenues to properly sort facts in this information age, yet we easily turn a blind eye to certain evidence if it goes counter to our beliefs – even when our choices may cause immeasurable harm. In the exhibit, the texts of books bleed falling letters of the alphabet, for they can no longer contain any structure of value’."

This exhibit will be open through the end of April, but keep an eye on this art space as more new things are always in the works.

City Inside Out by Haveit Neox Opens Today

Visit here: http://maps.secondlife.com/secondlife/LEA20/128/128/22

"Walking into any interior reveals only exteriors. The sense of personal space is absent. How is a city experienced when there are no comforts for the soul, no home?"

This LEA20 full sim exhibit opens today at 1pm SLT and runs through June 30, 2015.  This multi-level, City Inside Out, showcases the artists vision about struggles of the homeless.

Paper Observatory LEA12

Haveit Neox's "Paper Observatory" officially opened today at LEA12 as one of the interim projects and will run through the month of January.  It's actually very cool and took me a while to take it all in.  It's a place you should take a bit of time and look closely.  After landing I cammed up and sat in a couple of different chairs in the dome of the observatory where you can... er... observe quite well. And from there I cammed most of the place then went to the lowest level for different vantage points.

While I was there they happened to be filming a machinima that the public was invited to join in on, but I just stayed out of the way just watching and taking a few pics.  Many of the participants dressed as celestial beings of one sort or another and orbited around the top of the observatory area.    I sat and pondered all the sites and people around me.   I
had heard Haveit was making this Paper Observatary in LEA12 so a few days ago I went over to his main build and was impressed there. He built this huge Paper Observatory in a very short time,,, read to the bottom for his notes about the place.
The observatory is made of paper and pieces of paper are flying around with Haveit's planning and notes on them. The place is a great explore and one should really take some time to look around.

THE PAPER OBSERVATORY
by Haveit Neox

Having been invited on very short notice (2 days!) to build on the LEA 21 sim in January, I gratefully accepted this opportunity to develop and work on the concept of an observatory, the “Paper Observatory”. The inspiration and initial model for this project is the 4 year old Paper Tower on the sim ACC Alpha, this tower being a giant structure in the center of my sim which harbors the visitor center and galleries.
The new Paper Observatory on the LEA21 sim hovers above an ample arena. The city leading up to this build is concentric; rooftops conforming into one large sweep of concavity, suggests a satellite dish. The human activities displayed in the streets and the main square reflect on superstitious times before science’s tenet of universal proof, before disease was known to be microbial or before the earth was discovered to be round. In the sky, the Observatory catches the sunlight. This is Second Life, and we can flap our way up to the building’s landing. Requiring flight into the Observatory is an intended motion which I equate with the turning of a page in a book. The walls are of paper since this structure, as its predecessor, is my version of a book. During the month of January, I will continue to refine the textures and the shapes. The deconstruction motif at the base of the structure reflects directly onto the Paper Tower’s story, whose exposed girder skeleton belies questions of permanence.

As the Paper Tower is dedicated to arts, the Observatory will be connected to science and therefore be a venue where one could gather information and get in touch with thought provoking theories.
We live in a time of challenges unlike any other in history. Global Warming is not a political issue, it is an ecological one with direct biological consequences, and it is here now. It affects all of us, no matter our belief systems. In the very near future, as we advance into a world which will be much compromised and readied for the wars of water and the wars of food, the best strategy we can have is to assimilate education from proper scientists, and take the necessary steps without delay. As I learn more about science, I would like to share some of these valuable tools with visitors.

Please check accalpha.blogspot.com for information about my builds and for updates on the latest projects.

Lost Town "New Special Arts Exhibition"

Visit here; http://maps.secondlife.com/secondlife/Land%20of%20Glory/128/128/7

lost town by Kara 2

I have blogged Lost Town before when it had the same general city structure but looked very different with the added décor/art, etc.,  and now Lost Town has some new art and I went over to see Rebeca Bashly's "Invisible People" then realized they were having a full opening event for a variety of types of art by 6 artists, all unique.  I was home early from work so caught the tail end of a burlesque show as part of the opening party.  The town itself is a fantastic explore with a sort of eclectic feel and a variety of settings including city, underground, and rural. There are little art and café type shops, many places to dance or pose and it's really fun for pictures, a date, and art appreciation.  It's all seemingly quite artsy to me with many nooks to try to find and explore.  When visiting be sure to keep an eye out for teleport options.

First I took a photo of myself so you can see how cool the general look of the place is.  (above)

Anyway, since I mostly went to see Rebeca's stuff I'll focus on that, although all is very worth a visit.  Rebeca's "Invisible People" intrigued me as it's an exhibit that is spread throughout the area with pieces mixed into the environment and when viewed from only the "right" angle they blend into the scenery.  There is even a sort of hunt or prize offered if you find all the invisible people.   I took one pic from 2 diff angles to show here.  The rest I just lined up for some shots.  Go check it out for some fun times in SL.
