Silver Islands, A 6 Sim Magical Place in Second Life

Visit here: http://maps.secondlife.com/secondlife/Silver%20Islands/128/128/21

It's been a while since I've really been overly excited about a new sim but this 6 sim/region put together by Lola Lionheart (Lolasirena) is so impressive.  I found it on the destination guide and just WOW!  Lola is still working on some of it but I saw huge areas rich in texture and detail, with something for everyone above and under ground and in the water. There are places to vacation, live, rent, or visit with plenty of pose and relax spots.  There are even a lot of caves and tunnels above and below ground level. There is beach, there is nature, there is city. Be sure to get a map hud with info. as there is a whole lot to see and tbh I got lost before I used the map.  There is so much beauty, so much to see and do.  I will simply show some of their note card information for descriptions as Lola says it best herself. Even my photos cant come close to doing this area justice but I hope they will pique your curiosity and you will go for a visit as everyone should see and enjoy this sim.

Silver Islands

Lola's information states: "Silver Islands a place for the individual who see magic wherever they go, who wants to live somewhere that challenges what we believe to be real, and where the norm dares not to travel.":

Highlights include the following main landing points and within each of these are multiple specific venues. As taken in part from their note card of information:
" The Old Town
=========
A village nestled into the mountains. This town features old stone buildings, a local marketplace, seating and dining areas, Harmonia Entertainment Lounge, The Hole in The Wall poetry lounge, and a sophisticated underground tunneling system that takes you to the docks and nearly forgotten bath house.
=============
 The Ruins & Scuba
=============
The first settlers of the islands thought it safe to make home in the deepest cave they could find. Unwittingly settling too close to a shoal of siren (at least thats what the old scrolls found described) the settlement was overran by the fin like humanoids and the treasure reclaimed. Inside the cave the siren left the trademark luring technique of lights to drown their prey. If you follow these lights I suggest you bring scuba gear. - Now above the cave rest a small airfield only dared by the skilled, brave, and crazy pilots.
====================
 The Living Sanctuary Palace | Resort
====================
Here built within the cliffs as an old Moroccan influenced palace now bought and refurbished into the Starlight Paradise resort. Guest to the palace can freely enjoy the spa or plan their destination wedding.
=====================
 The Silver Islands Country Club
======================
The more posh residents and visitors of the islands enjoy spending their leisure time at the country club. Here you can dine (by roleplay or alone) at the terrace restaurant, lounge at the pool, play tennis, or enjoy the sand and coral reefs. By boat you can also access an entrance to the ruins.
======================
 SKIN - Bathhouse
======================
SKIN - Silver Islands underground bath house hidden beneath the old town.
Fully equipped with a gym and a hair/nail salon. Everything is clothing required with exception of the bath area where nudity is allowed (and preferred). Come experience a relaxing time in this hidden gem under the old town of Silver Islands.
======================
Vacation Village | Large Groups
======================
This village is suited for large groups looking for a vacation setting. You can book half the village which fits 13 people comfortably or the whole village with 26 people for your vacations!

Skate O Rama at The Calas Galahdon Sims Through March

Visit the Skate O Rama at the Calas Galahdon Sims here: http://maps.secondlife.com/secondlife/EREBOR/128/128/20http://maps.secondlife.com/secondlife/EREBOR/128/128/20

Hurry and visit this fun outdoor roller skating rink on the ever popular Calas Galahdon sims area by Ty and Truck on their EREBOR sim.  They have been featuring live music and tonight I caught Savannah Rain who will also do their closing show in two weeks.  That's right, the rink is only here for 2 more week and will close the end of the month.  It is open only for the month of March.  They have the skates, skating animations, or you can just hang out and enjoy with friends.  It's a huge beautiful rink with plenty of room and Savannah had around 70 visitors for her show tonight. There are cool cars in the parking lot and if you use sim lighting it's pretty romantic but great fun for friends or singles too. Enjoy!.

Check out how tiny the large sea creatures make my avatar look by comparison.  Enjoy

Bleeding Books by Haveit Neox Opens Saturday, Opening Party 3-4-17 at 2pm SLT at Split Screen Installation Space

Visit Split Screen Starting Saturday here: http://maps.secondlife.com/secondlife/Amra/16/236/22

Split Screen always has great exhibits and this one opens with a party Saturday!

Bleeding Books poster
Their press release states:"Join us this Saturday, 4 March, at 2:00 pm SLT for the opening of Haveit Neox's new work, "Bleeding Books" at Split Screen!

Haveit writes: ‘Bleeding Books’ begins in the sky, and drops to the large fortress at ground level. It is a story in my ongoing series on abuse as seen through the lens of language. What happens when knowledge is so disrespected that it is freely contaminated with doses of falsehood? There are avenues to properly sort facts in this information age, yet we easily turn a blind eye to certain evidence if it goes counter to our beliefs – even when our choices may cause immeasurable harm. In the exhibit, the texts of books bleed falling letters of the alphabet, for they can no longer contain any structure of value.

We hope to see you this Saturday at 2:00!

Frogs, By Cica Ghost

Visit Frogs here: http://maps.secondlife.com/secondlife/Aggramar/128/128/39

Well I've been having the flu for the past almost week and not in SL much in spite of being home doing nothing much.  I just haven't been up for it so yeah, missed a lot of the cool annual Valentines favorites in SL.  But I am feeling a bit better and went to visit Cica Ghost's new "Frogs" sim.  It looks like it opened Feb 5th and she generally seems to keep her sims open for about a month or maybe depending on traffic or something.  She also rarely gives a sim notice explaining her thoughts or explanations about her builds, but they are generally not overly complicated at face value.  I have no clue what she thinks as I don't see her often to ask, so I guess.  But they are always very cool and I try to visit all her builds.  Of course I love this land of frogs.  I have a Flickr group for frogs in SL that I made many years ago so this is right up my alley.  This organic sim is filled with big bouncy or rather more like throbbing frogs since they sort of bounce a little in place, a young girl seemingly drawing her dream of a prince on a old wall, maybe wondering how many frogs she might have to kiss in pursuit, and just on the other side of the door seems to be possibly an older version of herself alone at a table with a heart/valentine on a stick.  She is looking toward a broken TV (be sure to look deep  inside the broken screen for a miniature build) also possible representing broken dreams, as the room seems to be for one, not two? I really don't know Cica's intent but regardless, this earthy frog filled sim is way cool and you can get a free big frog avatar at the landing point. I always enjoy Cica's builds.  Enjoy!

Exploring Natural Falls V

Visit Natural Falls V, Domain West owned by Dann (Dannchris) here: http://maps.secondlife.com/secondlife/Domain%20West/128/128/21

I have to say this is a super cool magical urban decay sim that is both eerie and beautiful at the same time.  Unfortunately it was hard on my poor old computer to explore much and take photos there but what I did see was sooo cool.  I mostly took pictures in what I consider the pretty fantasy garden area but the rest the sim has different feels to it too.  There are some pose spots great for singles and couples  that would make for good photos with avatars in them too. Their sim info. from the destination guide states: "Natural Falls is located in an abandoned, flooded metropolis slowly decaying under a derelict, elevated railway.  Explore this urban sprawl of neglected gardens, forsaken shops, and deserted homes"
