Concerts for a Cure is a collaboration with Spiritfire Entertainment, Markus Music Management, and Vargas & Associates Entertainment. The event spans 8 hours raising money for the cure while everyone enjoys these incredible artists. Check it out March 13th!

BOSL Radio streamed live today from Mimi's Choice in SL. My good friend and BOSL DJ Sonicity Fitzroy did a double set and our friend Belinda Barnes was there with Soni as usual. A nice crowd gathered to dance and Mimi Juneau showed me the cool trophy she got that was offered by the Bossa Nova club for Women's Day, for best business woman in SL. A well deserved award too, as everyone I know loves Mimi's Choice, a group of stores that offer a collection of men's and women's fashion from some of the best fashion SL designers have to offer. Kaila Pinelli followed Soni with some more BOSL tunes for the group to dance to.

Happy International Women's Day-Be a Role Model

'Just taking a moment to observe International Women's Day today March 8th. "International Women's Day (IWD), originally called International Working Women’s Day, is marked on March 8 every year. In different regions the focus of the celebrations ranges from general celebration of respect, appreciation and love towards women to a celebration for women's economic, political and social achievements. Started as a Socialist political event, the holiday blended in the culture of many countries, primarily Eastern Europe, Russia, and the former Soviet bloc. In many regions, the day lost its political flavour, and became simply an occasion for men to express their love for women in a way somewhat similar to a mixture of Mother's Day and Valentine's Day. In other regions, however, the original political and human rights theme designated by the United Nations runs strong, and political and social awareness of the struggles of women worldwide are brought out and examined in a hopeful manner." My SL friend Belinda Barnes depicts it well in this SL photo she made tailored after the retro Rosie the Riveter wartime poster "We Can Do It" motivational posters representing women left home behind while their men were off at war, having to mange without spouses, often working very hard to make ends meet. Per Wiki,"Rosie the Riveter is a cultural icon of the United States, representing the American women who worked in factories during World War II, many of whom produced munitions and war supplies. These women sometimes took entirely new jobs replacing the male workers who were in the military. Rosie the Riveter is commonly used as a symbol of feminism and women's economic power."

Take advantage of many group gifts and freebies around SL today in honor of this special day. It's a good day for ladies to try to remember to be good role models and for everyone to remember the special ladies in their lives.

Yay! I Made the "What Is This Crap?" Blogroll Project!

Crap Mariner, Wordy, clockpunk robot in SL, and Secondlie cynic I love to follow and who has the best one liners ever (& short stories), added me to the ever increasing blogroll over at "What is This Crap" blog.

Woot! So true : ) .. I often think I mostly regurgitate a lot of stuff others do, well I do, but it really helps me to find what I want to save and visit and share with my friends, and come back to easily. I love the blogger search feature and find myself searching my own blog to find places or products much later. Mabye that says something about my poor memory, or the abyss of an inventory that things get too lost in that I can't find what I want there. Ooops, but I digress. My point was going to be that it's cool to think that someone with a very interesting, informative and entertaining blog considers what I have here worthy of adding to a blogroll.

I've quoted him here before and one of my favorites is still, ....."Take care of yourselves, because you’re the only you that you’ve got, and the world ain’t handing out alt accounts anytime soon."

Their site states, "This three day conference provides opportunities for sharing and further understanding of virtual world technology. Whether your epic adventures take you to Second Life, OpenSim, World of Warcraft, Minecraft or Club Penguin – this is your community event." The confrence brings together leaders in the field of virtual immersive education sharing resources. I attended several sessions during last year's conference and had a fun educational time and am sure there will be more of the same and new this year. There were over 2400 attendees last year reprsenting 95 countries.
