The Luxe Girls and The Monarchs Made for A Great Saturday Evening of Shows!

Performance Dance has been around for a long time, but it seems to be growing with more and improved dance systems, special effects, and interest. I've blogged many groups and shows over time and was even a member of the It Girlz and Fellaz for a while until my computer at the time decided I needed to retire from that for a while. Performance dance is not traditional exotic dance, mind you, these are very valid entertainment shows, many of which are suitable for all audiences. I'm usually not a big fan of posting information about things after the fact but in this case, the shows were great and worth talking about plus both groups have ongoing shows so more can be seen at a later date. Please refer to the above links for more information including the link for The Dance Queens who promote many of the groups via regular notecards and other PR that is super helpful to me to find the dates and locations of events.
***The Luxe Girls***
Saturday I entered SL just in time to change clothes to "circus theme black/white tones" as requested for the Elysion special Le Cirque Revie, circus showcasing the Luxe Girls. This particular show was offsite and the entire places was landscaped and decorated in such beautiful detail I will refer to the pics I took. I kept my pics in the sim suggested windlight which was a little dark but when I tried other lights, some of which were very cool, I felt the set lighting seemed fitting and worked well with the many special effects. The attendance capped out at 100 avatars. I actually missed the first few dancers but what I did see was beautiful and impressive. The Luxe Girls shows actually are "adult" rated. They typically do periodic shows on their home sim Elysion which is an amazing si to explore. They do have group membership dues there but they have weekly events and keep the sim looking awesome which I find worth it. At this show dancers included:
All the Luxe girls ended with a group finale and some of the dancers were (Yeah I didn't check names until the very end so some spellings might be a bit off and I could have missed some)
Aelva, Jarla Capalini, Luci Hurricane, Six Digital, Eostri, Exobitionista Nirvana, Aubryanne mohegan, Binx Inkpi, Genie renztoy, Acrylic kitty, ninette secretspy, Syn Zane, (syn beresford)
Big top tents surrounded the main stage where individual dancers performed their shows. Carausal horses circled the main finale stage area. The tents were themed: Tests, Lust (Six), Carousel, Serendipity, The Sideshow, Twilight Reverie (Eos), The Abyss (Aryanna), Diviner, Cloudburst (Exhi), Pyromancer, Wishing Tree (Bryn),
Thanks to Syn, DJ Little and the amazing Luxe girls of Elysion!! The show was amazing.

Right after the above show I dropped into the Monarchs show that was in a theater which is a little more typical of shows, however their sets and special effects were no less magnificent. SL live singer, AleyKat, was showcased singing the music for the song and participating as a lead dancer so this was a double treat. As always if you want to see more pics, click right on a picture which takes you to my Flickr and more pics. If you like to take in shows and dont have an amazing computer or a huge inventory like me some things take a big to rez and unfortunately sometimes the scenes move on before all is rezzed right. I have some pics like that and seems right when they'd fully rez I'd miss a pic as the scene moved on. But its all still amazing. Enjoy some future shows in SL

My Fair Lady at Origen's Hollywood Ballroom and Theater

The above was made by Origen for the 2nd performance of My Fair Lady and by now both shows have come and gone, but I was fortunate enough to catch the 2nd show and just WOW! Origen always does a great job with shows, events, sim landscaping and organizing things for this sim. I"m always impressed and this show was of the same quality standard. My friend Isabelle Mavendorf choreographed and the sets, dances, and costumes were so entertaining along with the sound track of the show/musical. They plan to have future shows so keep the landmark for their events and shows and just an overall great sim experience. I took a few pictures myself to share here.

A Night of Musical Mayhem, Puns and Overall Silliness
Thursday, June 16th and Saturday June 18th at 7:00 PM SLT
Save the date! The Starlite dancers will be taking he stage to perform "Something Rotten," a Broadway musical extravaganza.
"Let them take you to the Renaissance that never was, meet the William Shakespeare as you never imagined him, and prepare to be amazed, amused, and have your socks knocked off.
Seats will be limited, so do come early."
Ok, so this group has preformed this before and I missed it, but several friends told me this was a very impressive show not to be missed and they've brought it back a couple of times so I think these two will be my last chances to finally see what everyone is raving about! My good friend Isabelle Mavendorf is the choreographer so I know it will be as awesome as they are saying. Join me for some fun! And I hear they have more shows in the works I can look forward to also.

Phoenix Dance Team Grand Opening

1-16-15 at 7 pm slt The Phoenix Dance Team opened their theater at Perrinton 151,75, 2002. Cash tp'd me over and we both enjoyed the quality performances in their lovely theater. At times there were 100 in attendance and prior to my arrival they had to do a sim restart but came back in full force with a fantastic show. They had their own dancers and shows and guest performances and they included an ever popular audience participation dance. I was impressed they had so many male dancers for a change too. Their next show will be Jan 30th at 7pm SLT. Based on this one I'm sure it will also be a great performance also.
My pictures really don't do the show and theater justice as I wasn't aware it was going to be so cool and didn't plan to blog it.. but luckily I did snap some shots sort of on the fly and decided to blog it now since it seems it will be a great place for quality shows. Enjoy!

The Bots Are Back -At Split Screen Art Installation

Jo Ellsmere's bots are back and this time at Split Screen Art Installation, a well known immersive art area, owned and curated by Dividni Shostakovich. This group/show first appeared in 2014 at Avante Garde LEA8. I am as amazed now as I was then as to what they can do and Divi knows I totally love this exhibit! Be sure you get your shadows on, and use the designated parcel windlight and sounds for the full experience as you watch the bots change from one to 5 and back with delightful movements between. The above video was taken at the prior installation, but the entire set is now housed at Split Screen for all to enjoy. The current exhibit info. states: "Jo Ellsmere's "Biomechanical" performance by bots was probably the standout contribution to the Russian Avant-garde show in April 2014. It now returns to SL for a limited engagement at Split Screen, showing now through the end of February. Come see this mesmerizing work before it disappears again!"
The Split Screen Installation Space is a place for artists to develop large installations. Contact Dividni Shostakovich for information. He has a history of bringing in big name artists for some great immersive art. There are currently other works of art also at Split Screen and the landing information for the area reads as follows: "The artworks at the Split Screen Installation Space park are:
Blue Tsuki: Windmills from "Adagio."
Bryn Oh: "Bulbfish" (by the little pond).
Cherry Manga: "Chessboard." Be sure to walk on it.

Halloween Dance and Theater Current Events!
Two cool dance groups have upcoming Halloween shows that you wont want to miss. I know about and have seen both and highly recommend them. There are other shows listed by the Dance Queens group blow too.

I visited and spoke with Babypea and Fukuju Amaterasu. They showed me how the unique seating or pose props and fun to play on, they encouraged sim exploration of the sim and haunted house and sang the praises of sim designer SexyS Quintessa. The place is amazing really. Truly a "must see."

I luckily received a notice and caught Midsummer Mischief at LEA2 just before it started. The Night Theater will run it again today at 12noon and then will present a cake themed show Friday and probably yet another show Saturday in the church and then Once Upon a Saturday. The gorgeous fall sim theme will be around until the end of September then it will change up to a darker feel for Halloween in October. The show Saturday featured fantasy creatures and the sim is a beautiful explore. Everyone is welcome to explore any time. I totally loved the costumes and setting. Be sure to explore this area and try to catch a show.

5 Great Dance Shows Saturday!
There is a great group in SL for shows called Dance Queens. If you enjoy dance shows, cabaret, burlesque, and theater this is a great group to belong too. Cherri Banks of Dance Queens released this info. regarding Saturday shows. I actually caught a couple of shows tonight, Friday, at The Empire Room and Gueerilla Burlesque, so will use pics I took at those here as an example. The press release states:

1 pm - Elysium "Dancing for Bears" AAF Fundraiser at The Empire Room

This is a dance show fundraiser in support of Animals Asia Foundation's "Honey Money Days" fundraising drive. All proceeds from this show will be donated to Animals Asia Foundation.
Jill Robinson founded Animals Asia Foundation (AAF) in 1998. The organization raises awareness of the inhumane methods used in bear bile, which involve bears living up to 25 years in small cages, with metal catheters inserted into their abdomens for bile extraction, or even open wounds through which the bile drips. The organization also works "to reduce the demand for bile in Asia by promoting affordable, effective and cruelty free alternatives." AAF headquarters is in Hong Kong, with sanctuaries in Vietnam and China. AAF has rescued more than 500 bears.
Please join us in helping Jill and AAF in their tireless devotion to putting an end to the horrific practice of bear bile farming. Today, we dance for the bears! Elysium Cabaret in The Empire Room on Copperhead Road sim.

Guerilla Burlesque presents an hour-long show of live dance entertainment! Each act individually created and performed by some of the best dancers in Second Life. The costumes are glamourous, the music is sizzling and the stage sets will leave you breathless.
Guerilla Burlesque (SL) opens the doors of the Acuo Theatre from 11pm on Friday nights, to give our beloved audience plenty of time to find a seat before the sim fills up! So make your plans to include getting there early and hang out with the coolest audience in Second Life.

This is a dance show fundraiser in support of Animals Asia Foundation's "Honey Money Days" fundraising drive. All proceeds from this show will be donated to Animals Asia Foundation.
Jill Robinson founded Animals Asia Foundation (AAF) in 1998. The organization raises awareness of the inhumane methods used in bear bile, which involve bears living up to 25 years in small cages, with metal catheters inserted into their abdomens for bile extraction, or even open wounds through which the bile drips. The organization also works "to reduce the demand for bile in Asia by promoting affordable, effective and cruelty free alternatives." AAF headquarters is in Hong Kong, with sanctuaries in Vietnam and China. AAF has rescued more than 500 bears.

The Night Theater in Second Life, My Heart Goes Boom

Today I was able to visit The Night Theater's "My Heart Goes Boom" show, one of their 3 special shows for Valentine's. The next and last of this production will be shown 2-21-15 at noon and midnight. Costumes, sets, concepts, and dances are produced by Aelva, Martty Gehter, Jaicya, and JenzZa Misfit. I thoroughly enjoyed it all and especially love how props and particles and things engage the audience and are not restrained just to the stage. My videos have been very pixilated lately and figured this might be a good chance to see how its working with dance, but not a lot of fast other movement and it seems it turned out ok. I only have bits of 4 routines so missed some really good parts, but go visit their last two shows for some fun and the rest of it up close and personal.

Buy tickets on Marketplace searching "Paradise Lost".....many shows have been and are sold out so buy now if interested. This is their second run due to the fist being so well received and sold out. Now the shows for this run seem to be selling out too. When you get your ticket you will have the info. you need and a audience avatar which starts as a angel... I think we looked pretty darn cool all sitting in the pews as angels.. and I'm sure it helped keeps scripts/prim counts down too. Tips not only go in part to the actors but also to a real life cause. The whole show from start to finish is so impressive. They use 8 actors to play 43 roles, there are 8 major set/scenes, and chorography, costume changes, special effects, are so amazing. The audience is part of the play as we were immersed in movement, we wore their avatars provided with our purchased 1000L ticket, and that costume literally changes while on us, magically! I am sort of glad I am not sure how they made it all work because it really felt like magic. I purposefully avoided it until I had a chance to see Paradise Lost in SL, but in the end it doesn't give away the show, only enhances understanding of the makers and making of it.
This is just great SL entertainment we need more of. This kind of thing is not possible in RL.
