Happy 10th Rez Day Divi!

My good long time friend, Dividni Shostakovich, is not in SL much lately, as he's taking a little more RL time, but came in for his rez day party friends Isabelle Mavendorf and Emma Portilo and I threw for him.  And by me, I mean I put up some old pics and vids, but Emma decorated and Izzy provided the venue, DJ'd, and choreographed a little song and dance for the old Divi's Diva's to do a little dance to. She also made Diva matching jackets for us.  I neglected to even get pics of the show but I did get pics of the dancing/party time and then later things took a ~cough~ "odd" turn for a rez day party/  And the dance pole came out.. par for the course when these old friends get together. It was a nice group and many of the old Split Screen Art Installation Space patrons and good friends of Divi came out to join in the fun.  Of course I took pics... Happy 10th, my good friend Divi!

My Fair Lady at Origen's Hollywood Ballroom and Theater

 The above was made by Origen for the 2nd performance of My Fair Lady and by now both shows have come and gone, but I was fortunate enough to catch the 2nd show and just WOW! Origen always does a great job with shows, events, sim landscaping and organizing things for this sim.  I"m always impressed and this show was of the same quality standard.  My friend Isabelle Mavendorf choreographed and the sets, dances, and costumes were so entertaining along with the sound track of the show/musical.  They plan to have future shows so keep the landmark for their events and shows and just an overall great sim experience.  I took a few pictures myself to share here.
 

FlyGearZ and Whymsee

I received some group notice of a FlyGearZ dance duel of the huds event, so curiosity got the better of me and I popped over. I was pleasantly surprised to find a HUGE steampunk airship, Alice, filled with a bunch of ppl, mostly decked out in steampunk gear, on the cog dance spots.  After instructions and introductions we danced with the dance leaders Ki, Kiran Sporg and Jenna Dirval who led from the front stage.  The location was the FlyGearZ steampunk airship complete with many moving giant cogs and clock tower.  The event was the duel of the dance huds with full audience participation.  I grabbed some pics to show here, then cammed a little to also get a shot of WhymseeDancer Metaharper the dance bot that caches dances.  The sim is home to Whymsee and FlyGearz events and apparently various other explore areas to cuddle, play and experience according to the sim info.

BoDa Blues Grand Opening Nov 26th

This brand new blues club looks awesome and the grand opening is Sat Nov 26th.  I grabbed a pic before it's open.  The owner is Dante Peak and you might also know his partner LilBo Peak who is very involved in the live music scene.  Let's support this great couple in their new venture and have some fun!

Dark Hive Underground Club

I found this cool industrial club and while they had a great event yesterday, sadly I missed it.  But I still wanted to blog the place as it has a awesome atmosphere.  I showed up very early this morning so few people were around but it made for a good opportunity to take some pics for the blog w/out distraction.  I used to blog clubs quite a bit when I found new or cool ones I liked and this is the first time I've visited The Dark Hive and it fits that category of cool clubs so wanted to document it here, for you the readers and for myself and future visits.

Talu told me, : The club has been in SL "1 year, owner is Razor who built the club from scratch. Club have risen in popuarity fast due to nice design, friendly folk, no shops and low lag."

A Night of Musical Mayhem, Puns and Overall Silliness
Thursday, June 16th  and Saturday June 18th at 7:00 PM SLT

Ok, so this group has preformed this before and I missed it, but several friends told me this was a  very impressive show not to be missed and they've brought it back a couple of times so I think these two will be my last chances to finally see what everyone is raving about!  My good friend Isabelle Mavendorf is the choreographer so I know it will be as awesome as they are saying.  Join me for some fun!  And I hear they have more shows in the works I can look forward to also.

On a tip from my friend Greg Parker I ran over to check out Loose Nuts, at Nut's Landing.  This is a rotating party/dance sim owned by Delia Claremont with builds by her and DJ Dune (Dunerunner), Pross (prosperine2), and Hepburn.  I happened to catch their Mardi Gras build before the party and took a few pics then came back while Dune was putting some finishing touches on the "SL Love is Strange"  or sort of a Out of This World anti-Valentines day Valentines party build where there will be a party open to the public tonight from 5-8pm SLT, then 5-8 Saturday and again Sunday, Valentines day from 4:30-7:30pm SLT.  

Ok, I must emphasize here that this place is very cool and not your average party or club time dance area.  They make these builds and boy do they make them.  The pictures do not do them justice.  They have an amazing fully immersive look and feel to them, with vignette areas to play and interact, photo booths and photo ops, games, fun things to see and do and they are fully decorated and surrounded.  Apparently they have these themed rotating events regularly and do new builds for them along with having a consistent club on the ground and a current winter barn area too.  These are great explores and photo opportunities too. Hint: look for hidden areas too!  Hope to see you there!

The Macy's Interactive Thanksgiving Day Parade Runs Through Sunday

Ok, I found something somewhat unique and really fun to do today for Thanksgiving and I hear it runs 24/7 through 5pm SLT Sunday and celebs show up at 6 and 8pm SLT each evening, so this evening I ran over and actually ended up staying most my evening.  From around the area I heard there are almost 100 floats to enjoy.  Then Dec. 5th the Christmas parade begins in similar fashion.  The sim is pretty much lag free and rezzed well at least for me which is uncommon for me in busy places.  I jumped on many of the floats and played with friends on them.. they are click and ride for anyone.  There were also spectators and some celebs for a while when I was there.  Some of the floats even have menu giving props and costumes which magically get on your if you accept and disappear when you hop off the float.  All was super fun and a cool new thing to see and try.   Here is what their press release states:

Two cool dance groups have upcoming Halloween shows that you wont want to miss.  I know about and have seen both and highly recommend them.  There are other shows listed by the Dance Queens group blow too.

 I visited and spoke with Babypea and Fukuju Amaterasu.  They showed me how the unique seating or pose props and fun to play on, they encouraged sim exploration of the sim and haunted house and sang the praises of sim designer SexyS Quintessa.  The place is amazing really.  Truly a "must see."

Ok everyone get out your $300L and visit the profile if In2Udeep.Luv for the Grease groups.  I recommend getting into one of the remaining Grease groups which then becomes your entry fee and notice with landmark for the show/group you've selected.  Personally I'd love all my friends to go next Tuesday the 13th for the 7pm SLT show, as that's when I'm going back to see it again.  But if you can't make that, pick any Tuesday until Thanksgiving with an additional Sunday show.

Tonight I hit the opening night of Grease presented by Spotlight Productions.  The audience all grasped the idea and came decked out in Grease 50's style outfits from poodle skirts, to greaser boys and girls, to skater wait staff etc. 

You might ask yourself why I'm recommending this particular dance show that even charges an entry fee when there are so many free dance shows in SL.  Well, I'll tell you:
 1. I love the show and dances and songs from Grease and this show has amazing choreography.  This is a great job by SL's  Top Choreographers  BabyP VonPhoinx, Gunner VonPhonix, Jill Mackenzie, and In2udeep luv who collaborated to bring this exciting new interactive show that will run weekly on Tuesdays  through Thanksgiving. 
2.  I love the Grease music score and they played and danced to the most popular,  from Summer Loving, to hand jive, to We go together, and more.
3. The audience participation and scenery changed and we also got "danced" as we were all sitting on movers we stayed on throughout the show.  We started in diner seats, then they were whisked away magically later when we danced through the scenes.

There are  2 main stages  and they also made good use of the floor area in front of the stages.  The main scene changes were from diner to gym dance, to outside the carnival and of course there is the big carnival grand finale!  I hope to see my friends there next Tuesday.
