Pillow Talk, Talk Show and the Lonestar Club on the Benevolence Sim

Gary (allen.alcott), an old friend of mine, tp'd me to the Benevolence sim his partner Jen owns  He owns and operates the Lonestar club on the sim and Leona is the estate manager and runs the Weddings by Leona wedding business.  The sim also has shopping, a restaurant, Latitude Landings, a cool central partk, game room in the club, there are getaway and honeymoon private suites for rent, and the sim hots a lot of events.

Pillow Talk and The Lonestar Club

Some of the regular sim events include:
-Sundays: movies in the park: Sundays at 12pm SLT and this week it's Despicable me 3
- Mondays: from 6-9pm SLT they have inventory cleaning social
-Daily: Lonestar club DJs from 10am to 10pm daily.
-Saturdays: Pillow Talk show 8-9 pm SLT.  The reason I went to the sim was for their Saturday night "Pillow Talk" talk show in the Equinox Theater.  This weeks topic was Fetishes in Second Life.

The Pillow Talk show is hosted by Oo Ursula Oo--ooursulaoo, also co-hosted this week by Jen Sunshine.spicoli.  The shows are live with some attendee participation for QA/discussion.  The show is done in voice by the host and voice or text by any audience member who wishes to chime in.  The shows are taped and later put up on Youtube so you can watch past shows there.
Ursula's profile provides the following info. about the show:
"I am the Host of the New “Pillow Talk with Ursula” live in-world show. We will cover your burning questions about dating, relationships and….sex of course. We go live on Saturdays 8pm-9pm SLT. This show is not for the faint of heart as our topics may veer off into the raunchy side. We encourage audience participation during our live shows and who knows, you may just end up being featured on one of our forthcoming webisodes!"
Have a question? Suggestion for a topic? I love feedback and suggestions....so don't be shy. I'm not"

The show was actually very interesting and focused on things specific to SL.  Ursula spoke candidly regarding foot fetish, adult nursing relationships and lactation, diaper fetish, crossing into rubber/latex/feeling and sensation and also dolcette -cannibalism, snuff, crucifixion.  Due to audience comments they also touched on incest, RP child avatars, animals, BDSM, and scat among others.  Obviously in one hour there was not enough time to cover it all, but that just leaves them topics for future shows and they even talked about future filed trips. After the show we ran over to the club on the sim for a little dancing and some attendees played some games.  I rode the mechanical bull LOL.  There is plenty to do here so check them out.

I took a few pics:

Leonard Cohen, Rest in Peace

Visit the SL Leonard Cohen Club here: http://maps.secondlife.com/secondlife/Beau%20Belle/202/17/25

It was announced Thursday October 10, 2016 well known Canadian poet, singer, songwriter, and novelist Leonard Cohen passed away.  He actually passed away November 7th but his death wasn't announced until the 10th.  The cause of death hasn't been released yet.  He recently declared he was ready to die, then exclaimed himself as over dramatic and said he planned on living forever which he will indeed do through the legacy of his music and many works.  His SL namesake club, The Leonard Cohen Club, seems pretty busy and I'm sure many fans are paying their respects.

If you've been living under a rock or you just want to get up to date, you can learn more about Leonard Cohen at his official site here: https://www.leonardcohen.com/news

Wiki also has some great information here: (21 September 1934 – 10 November 2016)

He's released 26 albums beginning in 1967 and the most recent, Berlin DJ Paul Kalkbrenner’s remix of Leonard Cohen’s new single “You Want It Darker” premiered Oct 7 2016.

Leonard Cohen is well known for his long deep rich voice, many music and other awards won, and the "Hallelujah" song sung by many.

Second Life has over time honored Leonard Cohen in various ways. The two biggest shows of affection I can recall are through the current Leonard Cohen Club and then in 2012 there was a art exhibit where all the artists involved did an image depicting a Leonard Cohen song. My blog post regarding that exhibit can be found here: http://karasecondlife.blogspot.com/2012/01/unified-heart-exhibit.html

I can almost hear him singing his final Hallelujah. Rest in Peace.

Dark Hive Underground Club

Visit the Dark Hive underground club here: http://maps.secondlife.com/secondlife/Celaeno/179/218/3501

I found this cool industrial club and while they had a great event yesterday, sadly I missed it.  But I still wanted to blog the place as it has a awesome atmosphere.  I showed up very early this morning so few people were around but it made for a good opportunity to take some pics for the blog w/out distraction.  I used to blog clubs quite a bit when I found new or cool ones I liked and this is the first time I've visited The Dark Hive and it fits that category of cool clubs so wanted to document it here, for you the readers and for myself and future visits.
Their land info. reads:
"Dark Hive is a club for darker underground music styles like industrial, aggrotech, noise, EBM, techno, dark ambient, psytrance and more
                           [:We are Monochrome:]
/*Windlight Sky: "Alchemy Immortalis - Dark Misty Night"*/"

The club is owned by Razor (Radicalrazor) whose profile has this additional info.
"Owner of Dark Hive Underground Electronic club & lounge-

Talu told me, : The club has been in SL "1 year, owner is Razor who built the club from scratch. Club have risen in popuarity fast due to nice design, friendly folk, no shops and low lag."

A bit later Razor popped in and I snagged one quite picture.

Check it out some time if you like this sort of music and place!

Shit Kicker's Club and Beautiful Sim Opens 7-9-15 Great Club, Great Sim, Great Staff

Visit here: http://maps.secondlife.com/secondlife/Amethyst%20Nights/128/128/25
Shit Kickers
Shit Kickers

Shit Kicker's is scheduled to open, or I should say re-open, tomorrow after having been closed for over a year.  The owner, MO (m0ndrake) together with his partner Sassie (Sassie.Criss) and with landscaper Nan Ember of "Nanscapes" have created this great environment and club.  The previously very successful club will open it's doors at 2pm SLT tomorrow Thursday 7-9-15.

I dropped into the sim at the landing and immediately noticed the fantastic scenery.  Being an explorer I was on the run to see it all, not really knowing what I had somewhat randomly dropped into.   I was just about to start snapping photos when BAM I was ejected.  Before I was sent home I noted a man also standing where I landed so once home I quickly checked his profile and found him to be the sim owner and immediately IM'd him to ask what was up with that.   Mo advised me the sim is not quite ready but will be open to the public tomorrow and wasn't even sure how I found it or got in.  LOL.. okkk then.  Must have been SL magic and meant to be.  But lucky me he then took pity on my need to see all things cool SL and let me back in and in spite of doing some finishing touches to the sim work took a lot of time to answer all my usual questions.  He was very friendly and informative.  I teased him about ejecting me and he jokingly said he does have a rep to live up to, lol, but really he seems like a great guy and let me right back in when I Im'd him.

When asked what type of music the sim would feature as the name "Shitkickers" screams country, Mo indicated the music will generally be about 60% country, some 80s rock some of that new rap country shit he said and then whatever people want and request.  While I was there country music was streaming while they worked and showed a few people around.

Mo gave me a little of the back history saying 6-7 years ago Sassie owned many sims, Sands of Freedom, which were attached motorcycle sims with residential etc.  She was actually Mo's first landlord and ironically enough she wrongly accidentally evicted him and that's how they met and hit it off and they were together 3-4 years in SL then.  All those old sims have since been closed.  A little over a year ago MO purchased a club then soon after together they opened Shit Kickers and he said it was an immediate success with lots of great staff and attendees.  They closed the club and MO went first life for about a year and now is back.  Together with Sassie they started to work up this current sim for Shit Kickers again about 3 weeks ago.  They engaged Nan Embers for the sim landscaping and she's done am amazing job.  The club build is Mo's and remains the same.  He said he has a history of building, scripting, mesh work, etc.  Sassie has been good friends with Nan from way back and together they all make a great team in developing this sim.  They have most of their old staff back and he said one of the biggest compliments a club can have is that their staff love to hang out even when not working which he said is the case here.  He was very complimentary of Sassie, Nan, and his staff. He said their club is unique in that there are "no apologies" which has sort of become their trademark saying, meaning come and have fun and no need to apologize for a little colorful language or whatever and just relax and enjoy as long as no one is getting hurt.  The club will have a limited number of selected shops but they wont have a lot of big advertising around,  just a focus on the club and sim enjoyment.  The sim chatter will be limited to the club and up the main walk in the few stores.  The rest of the sim won't hear the club chatter which will be nice for explorers and people hanging out just enjoying the gorgeous sim.  They feel the club and setting are unique and clearly they have a passion for what they are doing here.

The sim features the club but is an amazing explore thanks to Nan's landscaping.  It has a general country feel with lots of nature areas, some great pose and cuddle spots, a beach, a sort of swamp, nice waterfalls, cliffs and waterways, a memorial area, a barn with animals around, some great bridges and windmill, some scenic walking roads, and a cute sort of campy dock area.

All are welcome to come enjoy the club and explore and hang out in this impressive sim.

Follow Me, Down the Rabbit Hole-Explore Second Life

My imagination has always been piqued by the terms “rabbit hole” and “follow the white rabbit”, so much so that I’ve actually had a white rabbit in my profile pics for quite a while now, with the words, “follow me”.  I guess my insatiable curiosity just loves the idea of an adventure, exploring something magical or profound and SL is a bit like that for me sometimes not only in the explores but more so in learning about others and  myself in this virtual world through my involvement in relationships with others in an alternate setting that is real but not my reality as far as daily life and the way I conduct myself in first.  My SL experience is a great escape, adventure, learning opportunity, and a place to explore parts of my own mind I would not otherwise do or maybe have an opportunity to do in my first life.   I love to go down my SL rabbit hole, but in first life many of us would be too cautious to do as much. In some ways many people somewhat safely explore things in their SL environment and about themselves they wouldn’t do in first life.  Simplistically for example, how could I be a fairy in fairy land in first life? SL offers freedoms for many they don't have in first life.  And a more complex example would be in some of the interpersonal relationships I see in a world of anonymous reflections interacting.   At any rate, the idea of self-exploration, exploration of the unknown, and subsequent new understanding or metaphysical  “waking up” is part of the whole rabbit hole concept.  It could be expanding awareness to incorporate new ideas and achieving mind-expansion.Many books and movies such as The Matrix also reference the white rabbit in this manner.

The other part seems to be simply exploring and enjoying the adventure for what it is.  Second Life is a good opportunity for both.  SL is my down time from first life so generally I try hard to keep things light and enjoy surface value magic, exploration and some creativity in SL,  but anyone who knows me knows that in spite of myself I can’t help but constantly contemplate all things about interpersonal relationships and also run and explore everything such as the beautiful magical wonderlands that I can in SL.  Going down the rabbit hole can represent the taste of something extraordinary with the tease of more to come.

Some say the term rabbit hole refers to drug use, as in the mind and body altering cake and drinks from the story “Alice's Adventures in Wonderland” by Lewis Carroll.  Certainly the Jefferson Starship song, “Go Ask Alice” is referring to the Carroll story and drugs such as LCD/hallucinogens.  The story has Alice following the white rabbit down the hole into a wonderland where she must take the drinks/cake to proceed through a beautiful, yet strange and surreal world and story that has its risks, adventure, and ultimate desire to return home or reality, safety, and normalicy.  One can get lost in the rabbit hole with a risk of never finding ones way out.  Have you ever spent more than a few hours in SL and still not wanted to surface to first life? I think we’ve all been there.   Anyway, there are other drug annotations such as the hookah smoking caterpillar and mushrooms all around.

My SL fantasy world and some of the amazing beautiful Sims are just such an adventure to me but without the fallout from drugs or other repercussions for behaviors first life would hold.  But again, the white rabbit is more than a drug induced trip, it represents exploration, introspection, curiosity, and is about questioning reality and ourselves.  I think going down the rabbit hole at least a little ways once in a while if fine, as long as you know your way out.  Take a chance and you might learn something about yourself and meet some great people along your voyage of discovery.  I know many run headlong, never looking back.. this is SL… enjoy.  Check out the explores.  One is pure fantasy,  the other is similar with the addition of a cool EMB (adult) club at the end.

The retro old neighborhood bar feel will make you right at home.  It's a perfect place for chilling to some of the best music of SL.  If you haven't seen it yet.. you won't be disappointed."

I stopped in early to visit with my good friend Emma Portilo.  I also grabbed a photo of the still empty and not quite open bar and owner Tris10 otherwise known as Tristen.  This bar promises to be a cool hang out and Tristen even built in a classic theater in the back room and up a very cool elevator.  We watched a movie there a short time back before the bar was ready for opening.  I asked if I could snaps a pic of Criss doing pre-set up.  Criss Covers, or Criss Fredriksson, is a Chilean singer.  His genres including 70;s, 80;s, Rcoki, Pop, Easy Listening and Country.  He also performs on occasion acoustic set with guest guitarists.  His press release states he creates intimate and mesmerizing rendition of 70;s and 80;s and contemporary songs that will fill your heart and soul.  "Criss' artistry and obsession for music comes through in his performances.  Performing since childhood, his well honed voice draws crowds both in RL and SL.

DJ Drake Huet at Smokes

Visit Here: http://slurl.com/secondlife/FairChang%20Calypso%20NE/211/228/22 or direct link here: SmokesHere
DJ Drake Huet at Smokes
My good friend Drake Huet is a DJ now at Smokes jazz and blues club. Drake is doing a great set tonight at Smokes and this is the first time I have had a chance to hear him DJ. He's got a great voice and personality to match and apparently has a lot of music to chose from as he spun the tunes to themes attendees requested. His lovely wife Molly Michabo served as a friendly hostess. The club owner Smoke Dreamscape was also around with the rest of us to enjoy the evening. This is a nice place with some theme nights and an art gallery in the back room. Check it out some time for a friendly fun time.
