Giovanna writes of this installation... in part: "The tendency to emphasize and almost exacerbate the instability and impermanence of the perception of what has passed and of what is not yet is the leitmotif of "Flash Back / Flash Forward." and more....." Inside there are spaces that vanish in the complex but, depending on the angle, they are perfectly visible. I gave them names:
The dream
The point of view
The desire
The lightness
The bird
The impossible choice"

This is a cool immersive build. I took a few pics as usual.. fun exhibit. Check it out! Open through July 31st.
The Pillars: Four Moments of Contemplation by Oberon Onmura - @ Split Screen Art Installation Space
Per Oberon's Note regarding this exhibit: "This work is an installation which embodies terraforming, complex scripted objects, and bots. A "forest" of vertical mounds is inhabited by four avatars, each enclosed in a unique soundscape and constrained to a single animation. A plain white chair beside each avatar invites the viewer to sit and contemplate each small scene.
It looks best with shadows and water reflections enabled.
Oberon"
So the scene is these fog-topped large pillar like structures born up from the ground, standing in a water base that per windlight settings seems to have it's own moving design or texture. There are birdlike objects flying overhead in a peach colored sky. There are occasional flashes or flickers of light or perhaps a slight shift in paradigm from time to time. There are 4 bots, GuyMinion, IIlyaMinion. DanaMinion, and HanMinion each on their own small platform a portion of the way up the side of one of the pillars next to a chair visitors can sit on and contemplate while listening to the unusual sounds in the area. Each apparently asexual nude red bot has a different repetitive movement, one writhing on the ground. another spinning with arms extended, another bent in anguish or possibly submission, etc. that left me me contemplating things most likely not intended by the artist. Go check it out for yourself. The exhibit runs now through October. Quite interesting.
Jo Ellsmere's bots are back and this time at Split Screen Art Installation, a well known immersive art area, owned and curated by Dividni Shostakovich. This group/show first appeared in 2014 at Avante Garde LEA8. I am as amazed now as I was then as to what they can do and Divi knows I totally love this exhibit! Be sure you get your shadows on, and use the designated parcel windlight and sounds for the full experience as you watch the bots change from one to 5 and back with delightful movements between. The above video was taken at the prior installation, but the entire set is now housed at Split Screen for all to enjoy. The current exhibit info. states: "Jo Ellsmere's "Biomechanical" performance by bots was probably the standout contribution to the Russian Avant-garde show in April 2014. It now returns to SL for a limited engagement at Split Screen, showing now through the end of February. Come see this mesmerizing work before it disappears again!"
The Split Screen Installation Space is a place for artists to develop large installations. Contact Dividni Shostakovich for information. He has a history of bringing in big name artists for some great immersive art. There are currently other works of art also at Split Screen and the landing information for the area reads as follows: "The artworks at the Split Screen Installation Space park are:
Blue Tsuki: Windmills from "Adagio."
Bryn Oh: "Bulbfish" (by the little pond).
Cherry Manga: "Chessboard." Be sure to walk on it.
Eliza Wierwight: "The Satirical Polemicist." Sit on the little heart in the middle.
Kolor Fall (Patrick Faith): "Adjacent Lovers." Click on the cubes.
Maya Paris: "Tutti-fruity trees": sit underneath and say the name of the fruit!
"2 NightBird Nest and eggs": sit in the nest and click on the eggs!
Miso Susanova: "Time as a Helix of Semi-Precious Stones" (on the sky platform -- there are teleporters scattered around the land). Sit on it to see up through the installation to the moon (set at midnight if you aren't using Firestorm). If you position your camera before you sit, you'll see that you're walking.
Oberon Onmura: "Contact Improvisation." Watch it for a while. You can also walk into it if you like. Explanatory notecard:
Scottius Polke: "Rusty Boxyphant" and "Green-Purple Turtle II." You can ride the turtle!
Trill Zapatero: "Cheese Grater Street Lamp," "Big Oak Tree," and "New Novia Oak."
Enjoy!

Exhibit opening party today February 2, 2013 at 3pm SLT.
This month, February 2013, Split Screen Installation Space features: "Afterlife: A Journey Through the Imagination of Pixels Sideways" by Pixels Sideways (sky level) and "Yes, Giovanni" by Yooma Mayo (ground level).
My friend Emma Portilo and I were wandering around Split Screen art installation wondering which famous artists will be having the next exhibit since they run every other month and this is the off month when the artists build their immersive installations. Owner and curator Dividni Shostakovich was nowhere to be found but we stumbled upon this unusual pile of Bryn Oh dolls at the landing area. We heard rumor Divi was frustrated having a hard time maneuvering and walking on the walls and ceilings at the new Bryn Oh build, Imogen and the Pigeons, and that there was some disturbance between them but didn't know if this pile was associated with that or not. I certainly had no problems whatsoever with the walking on the walls and ceiling in that installation and found it very amusing. You never know what unusual sightings you will find around SL these days and the meaning behind things. Then again, there is a free Bryn Oh doll to be found at Bryn's installation so perhaps "someone" just got carried away and picked up a bunch of them, a whole bunch..... hmmm wonder why?
This month Split Screen Installation Space hosts 3 artists, Rose Borchovski: "Echoes in the Garden", Simotron Aquila: "Conditioned Actions" and Misprint Thursday: "Ile de Coeur" Their opening party is today at SSIS 1pm SLT. The DJ will the wonderful and eclectic Isabelle Mavendorf.
