Flash back/flash forward, by Giovanna Cerise at Split Screen Art Installation Space

Visit Flash back/flash forward, by Giovanna cerise at Split Screen Installation Space here: http://maps.secondlife.com/secondlife/Coppelia/128/128/23

(note the new LM for Split Screen)

Giovanna writes of this installation... in part: "The tendency to emphasize and almost exacerbate the instability and impermanence of the perception of what has passed and of what is not yet is the leitmotif of "Flash Back / Flash Forward."  and more....." Inside there are spaces that vanish in the complex but, depending on the angle, they are perfectly visible. I gave them names:
The dream
The point of view
The desire
The lightness
The bird
The impossible choice"
Upon landing accept the note card with much more detailed information.
This is a cool immersive build.  I took a few pics as usual.. fun exhibit.  Check it out! Open through July 31st.

Tristan and Isolde by Richard Wagner
Installation by  Giovanna Cerise
Introduction by  Francesco Bonetto
Opening  Wednesday, July 15, 2015 at 1.30 pm slt

The press release states:
"Wagner wrote in a letter to Liszt ( December 1854):
“As I have never in life felt the real bliss of love, I must erect a monument to the most beautiful of all my dreams, in which, from beginning to end, that love shall be thoroughly satiated. I have in my head "Tristan and Isolde," the simplest but most full-blooded musical conception; with the "black flag" which floats at the end of it I shall cover myself to die” (  http://www.the-wagnerian.com/2012/10/the-birth-of-tristan-und-isolde-wagners.html )

Tristan und Isolde (Tristan and Isolde, or Tristan and Isolda, or Tristran and Ysolt) is an opera, or music drama, in three acts by Richard Wagner to a German libretto by the composer, based largely on the romance by Gottfried von Strassburg

The visitor can interact with the environment simply going through it, resulting in different visual impressions.
The recommended setting is Sunset or Verdigris, to appreciate the nuances of the installation.
Opening  Wednesday, February 18 th, 2015 01:00 pm SL TIME"

I'm home from work today with a sore throat and fever, so I snuck in early for a few pics for this blog and went with a friend.  At the landing you sit on the coglike mirror to tp into the tunnel.  My friend was saying the changes in the tunnel were a little disorienting to her. You travel through a sort of greyish tunnel nestled in what seems almost like the base of a old wood ship or maybe a nest of wooden planks.  The atmosphere sort of moves and flickers as you travel though the tunnel going from what is reality to a sort of silhouette in grey. On the exterior are similar wooden structures.  It felt a tad steampunky especially if using the Verdigris windlight suggested and with some coglike structures.  I'm not an artist, so not sure I fully grasped the meaning of it all but I could certainly appreciate the uniqueness of the build and liked the way the atmosphere in the "tunnel" was sort of shaded out and with the discs that also gave alternating visual effects.   I have to say I guess I preferred the recommended sunset windlight with it. Check it out some time.

Hurry over to LEA 10 before it closes the end of this week.  Giovanna Cerise's notecard says:

The man enters in the game of life through the first breath. This is always connected intrinsically to the emotional word. The breath of life allow us to live and when it is held, our emotions are imprisoned too.
It is suggested to activate the sound and to deactivate the streaming.
It is suggested to use region Windlight and set up  graphic preferences on advanced Lighting model and shadows Sun/moon
Opening Sunday 9th of march @ LEA 10
The exhibition will be open until 28 March"sic

Mimesis' note states: "- The title of this installation is from a poem by Dylan Thomas - the title of the poem is the same.
I have modified items from the following creators:
- Trees by Soror Nishi (some of them, others are like she has created)
- In the "big TV" horses by Alpha Tribe
- "Pregnant trees" are based on a shape made by Capcat Ragu and Meilo Minotaur.
Click around there are animations here and there. There are also gifts around, please take, but remember some you might figure out ^^^.
Enable sound, except for performances. Some of the performances have streamed music others will be in voice.
Parts of installation looks best with shadow enabled.
Have a max time.
Mimesis Monday."

I happened to hit the opening event and the exhibit was a good explore but SaveMe Oh was also on hand collaborating with the team of Giovanna, Mimesis/Heidi with a performance art experience.  Attendees had the opportunity to continuously change "outfits" that were provided for free and we danced and animated using the also free animations they provided with the outfits, in the matching temporary environment SaveMe Oh provided, changing scenes as the group changed clothes.  They even had dressing rooms set up but eventually due to the number of attendees and outfit changes most of us figured out we could safely change in public as long as were careful and kept our undies on.  We became "One With The Art".  I flipped on my camera... of course.

Additional information about the exhibit and upcoming events and future exhibit: "

And the poem: "
“Poem (Your breath was shed)” by Dylan Thomas
Your breath was shed
Invisible to make
About the soiled undead
Night for my sake,
A raining trail
Intangible to them
With biter’s tooth and tail
And cobweb drum,
A dark as deep
My love as a round wave
To hide the wolves of sleep
And mask the grave."
