Dividni Shoshtakovich's Birthday

My good friend and owner/curator of Split Screen Installation Space had a real life birthday recently.  The gang threw me a surprise party for my birthday that was shortly before Divi's.  So when Divi said he didn't want a party for his, I immediately began scheming with the other two Divi's Divas.  Isabelle Mavendorf did an amazing job with the set and choreography/dj, Emma Portilo coordinated, and I contributed venue and ideas and in the end we ended up with a little production. We all 3 prepared roasts to last him another (how many years is it now Divi?)   I won't mention how the actual party turned out since Divi is the master at avoidance, but in the end I was able to film a little bit of the song and dance at a later date to preserve it all.  Some of it's sort of an inside joke, since we got together last year and sprung a surprise makeover on Divi ending in the fuzzy full body animal pajamas and a short machinima to preserve that event as well ... track back here for more on that: http://karasecondlife.blogspot.com/2011/08/makeover-otherwise-known-as-project_05.html
So this year when we burst out of the cake to dance of course we had to wear those same fuzzy outfits.  Later we followed up with presenting the roasts all the while Divi sat on the hot seat, a special on fire electric chair (another inside joke, since we often drive Divi a little, you know, he wears that straight jacket).  Finally we did a little burlesque Cell Block Tango, becuase of course Divi ... had it coming. 

But he knows we all love him dearly.  A few special friends also attended the later filming date.  Thanks everyone.  The vid is small here so I'll add some stills.  Again, hope you had a great birthday this year Divi and just wait till next year. : )

In case you are wondering:   I'm in pink bunny, red burlesque, and yellow dress.   Emma is white cat (I think), white/black burlesque and red/black outfit, and Izzy is black/white panda, blue burlesque and white gown.  Also thanks for hanging out at the filming Gus, Kathy and David, and of course the man of the hour Dividni Shoshtakvich.

The Master Plan-Of Home and Furniture Shopping-And Rich Old Men

Ok ladies, here's the plan, we'll get some "rich old dude" to shack up with the 3 of us girls together so we can live in this beautiful mansion.. Kathy said (Or, something like that)

I added, We'll lay in wait at the entrance and jump him when he comes shopping for a mansion, and he won't know what hit him when our 3 beautiful young avatars approach with our womanly wiles.

Then we will drug him when it's our turn to have "special time" with hims so he won't remember or know what didn't happen, and later tell him how great he was so we won't REALLY have to be with him that way. Emma suggested. (I think she said)

And so the plan progressed. Emma graciously offered to sacrifice the master bed and bedroom to myself, Kathy and the "rich old dude" and take one of the spare bedrooms, to which Kathy and I secretly bemoaned we didn't think of that first. Although Kathy and I were very pleased with the 2 spacious his and her's closets in the master bedroom but wondered where the "rich old dude" would put his things though. All three of us dreamed of laying around in the luxurious sun room (which Emma advised she thought rich people surely called it a conservatory, but then Kathy said that was only in Clue) with a good book and some tea in our spare time while "rich old dude" would surely be napping.

"Rich old dude" was not coming along to the mansion demo area fast enough so we began exploring our contact lists for possibilities. Cougar Kathy has a few very young prospects on the back burner and so I requested she ask one of them if they have a "rich old dude" grandfather they might contribute to our cause.

We really thought this was a good plan, I mean wouldn't any sane "rich old dude" be thrilled to have the 3 of us easy ladies, but I won't say free, as in the end this would be a very costly venture for any "rich old dude". This was all happening at the very cool Prefabulous homes demo area. Apparently all 3 of us ladies like to shop for homes, furnishings, clothes, well anything. And somehow we ended up at this high quality and impressive home store.

Meanwhile Emma had been macking on one of Eliza Wierwight's homes. All three of us LOVE Elia's furniture and decor and she is known for her amazing art in SL. We also checked out this place Emma eventually ended up buying as ironically it went on sale this week for a limited time.

We also checked out The Abiss beach house. I was the first one in the hot tub and we all enjoyed the many built in poses too such as in the closet : )

We visited Bellarose which also sells fine furnishing and homes. I found a house I might just make my next one.

Later in the evening Emma excitedly emailed me soon after we had all said goodnight because it was so late and she told me Eliza had just put her Christmas garland for sale.. we met each other over there again and snatched some up. Ironically we both had been complaining to each other how we so wanted Eliza's garland that she had all over her store but not for sale. Then wallah.. it went on sale for us.

Now you might ask yourself why three young ladies were out house and fine furniture shopping all evening instead of looking some more for Mr. Right of the mansion sort.. well.... I was on a mission to find some nice furniture for my latest adventure. It's still in the making and top secret but I will say it comes with a little winter wonderland area with tons of props and poses and fun things to play on. And I'll give a hint... it starts with "Art" and ends with "Gallery". Yup.. and it will have a little something for and from everyone I think. Soooo, I'll keep the blog posted. Meanwhile if there are any "rich old dudes" reading this... give me a call.

And about the "rich old dude" thing .. none of us are really that shallow, we were actually just joking about that .... sort of.

(And to think I blogged about trying hard to find nice homes and furniture in SL about a year ago, and now there are so many nice things--as a side note I am still in a LaGalleria home with some of their furnishing, which I love)

The Makeover otherwise known as "Project Innocent"

It all started, or so I thought, when I said in the Split Screen group chat that curator for this cool SL art Sim, Dividni Shostakovich, was wanting to get a makeover, but was a little worried the girls might not like a new look on him. Of course I really said this in order to feel him and the group out on the idea since, God forbid, he had not changed skins for something like 3 years... longer than I've been in SL. He's not the shy type and told me he didn't need any help with the women, which is true, but anyway.. his good friend, Emma Portillo, jumped on the bandwagon and apparently a few of us girls had brought up this topic with him before. Emma soon organized "Project Innocent" otherwise known as ambush Divi and don't let him take no for an answer to a makeover night. We girls, of course, were the innocents, just trying to help. All in the name of presenting the most current most professional art sim curator appearance for PR purposes of course.... never mind we like to dance with a hot av.

Please keep in mind I was given permission to blog this event so poor innocent Divi wasn't really just totally ambushed by a bunch of fashionistas wanting to make him over, well ok he was, but I soon started to think he was actually enjoying it.. somewhat. *whispers* after 5 hours we wore him down and were successful!

Dividni Shostakovich needed a new look after 3 years in the same skin. Since he curates the Split Screen art sim a few friends and myself thought he should have a smoking hot, I mean, a new professional look. Emma Portilo, Izzy Mavendorf, and Eliza Wierwight were the primary interventionists and Bryn Oh was busy but made an adorable contribution to the cause. Divi was invited to dance and with sim name changed on the tp he landed in the middle of our group at a skin store. What could he do.. he was outnumbered by a bunch of beautiful women who love him so he did what any smart man would do and sat back for the ride. But first he changed all our group tags to "Divi's Divas" then changed his to "I'm a demo model for myself". "Project Innocent" turned quickly into the " the intervention convention ... this wasn't your intention?" We went from skin store to store having him pick up the demos we all agreed on. While at LAQ we also forced him into picking up a hair demo we all very much wanted him to get and wow... who would have thought a guy could be so attached to his old hair that this took on such an art of finesse that lasted hours before he relented. Or maybe he drug it out for fun, I'm not sure. But by the time we were done he did sound a little haggard and we kept him up waaaay past his normal early bedtime.

I sure hope those store models really were afk since we asked them to strip to show us their full skin so we'd know if it was good enough to make a purchase or not, then when we got no response to our varied inquires and comments tried to take them home thinking they were like mannequins we could throw over our shoulders and have at home to just drool ove.. I mean have around like works of art.

Once the demos were selected we went back to Emma's. With only 3 of us girls left Divi began the arduous task of modeling the demo skins with his shape since again there was no way in hell he would think of changing his shape.. so a few minn later he was in a the hunky new demo shape the ladies all liked. That didn't last long though and with his old shape again went through the demos..So we got him into some short briefs I found on marketplace that are a little loose and low in the back so he could be certain he was going to get the all around right skin and shape. We kept razzing him about his shape until he suddenly got very short and chubby .. which is when I decided I needed a dance, so we all took turns dancing with Divi, then he got skinny... so we took a pic. He returned to normal and we did insist he eventually bump up his booty a bit as you couldn't' tell where that started from his back and we girls all agreed his arse was a bit too skinny and needed to be a little more "squishy" as one of the ladies said. We kept reminding him we loved him and were only trying to help and that within a week he'd be used to the changes.. and that we were already used to it and happy with change. We stopped short of making him model any "extra" parts to be assured skin tones, agreeable size, shape, styles matched etc., but he did mention something about each of us helping out in that area later.. I had no clue what he meant by that. Especially since we were going to get this job done one way or another before he chickened out... and a few times we did worry he was just humoring us and would be back in the old stuff the next day, especially when he once poofed... but thankfully he returned and we all came to a consensus.

Divi kept wanting to put on the plush pink full body Intrigue Co. bunny suit Bryn Oh sent to him during our makeover as Bryn couldn't be with us. So part of the demoing was in the pink bunny shorts before he put the briefs on then later we all went back to the stores and Divi did get his new permanent (or so we hope) skin and hair...woot! Success!.. but by then I was also in my Intrigue Skunk pjs that I had from before, so Emma and Izzy quick got some off marketplace and we returned to her house for the "after" picture. We got distracted and danced a little and finally did our "after" pic in the pjs outfits, but then I couldn't really see how hot the new Divi was so today I had him come over for a quick snap of the NEW Divi, and thankfully he was still in the new Divi skin and hair. All in all this was a LOL, pee your pants, funny good time kind of evening, and Divi has his new smoking hot.. I mean ... professional curator look.
