salt, LEA7, by Eliza Wierwight

Visit Salt here: http://maps.secondlife.com/secondlife/LEA7/128/128/19

Once again Eliza came through with an impressive immersive sim over at LEA 7 (Linden Endowment for the Arts) land grant sim. Eliza Wierwight is probably best know for her home and garden decor sim, "Patron" located here: http://maps.secondlife.com/secondlife/Patron/128/128/21
But I actually have known Eliza the artist even longer.  She has always been very impressive with her art works as well as her quality home and garden items and Patron homes. I've blogged Eliza's products, especially her high end Christmas decor, many times, as well as her past art. This build contrasts her beautiful commercial work. LEA7 tells her story though this very creative build that I recommend visiting. The overall topic is about being broken and surviving, as you progress through the stations of this build.  It's a very deep exhibit and might be a little disturbing to some, considering the subject matters, but so so well done.  At times you will want your media on and there are notes indicating where it's needed and where to turn it off.

After I blogged this I found a link from Eliza's Facebook for this video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Plv_Yu7QSS8&feature=share
After I listened to the video Eliza spoke of using real salt in making some of the textures.  The video is a very interesting interview of Eliza by Strawberry along with their tour.

I grabbed this quote from her note card:
"★Artist's statement on salt - framework★ As a fuller Immersive piece the philosophy of salt manifests in this way, I invite you to consider the journey through the installation as experiencing dining from a pre-set menu of somewhat unpalatable stories & truths. Some my own, some not, though all important to me irrespective of origin. I've quite deliberately misappropriating the term 'degustation'. This imparted itself as an ideal transition, as each segment-course is a unique work of its own volition. There are however other threads that drift through the work, as I've permitted myself a further interplay of symbolic references in relation to the accoutrements of sustenance. In the context of literal salt, a basic commodity that exists in most kitchens of the world, it became a metaphor for the things that wound us, a conduit. Another thread meandering through this work relates to the Japanese philosophy of Kintsugi, embracing the unique, flawed or imperfect. Life ingratiates itself with such hardship at times. If we are the wounded, then let us embrace where possible those challenges & scars, and in surviving them or in our empathy for others that do, see ourselves as the beauty. We are the fine art. Eliza Wierwight"

So, I went to visit with my friend August, took a bunch of pics in this cool sim, followed the story line around, then, rule breakers that we are, (not really) we hopped in the car behind the cordoned off restraint ropes to chat about it.

Christmas at Patron

Enjoy being a patron of Patron this holiday season!

It's time to get the holiday decorations out of storage and it's always fun to buy a ton of new things both RL and SL.  My fav overall SL shopping for Christmas home decor is Patron by Eliza Wierwight.

Visit Patron here: http://maps.secondlife.com/secondlife/Patron/128/128/21

She says it best and her info. states:
"Well, we're on our way, it's no secret that  I love creating for the Season. There's a massive section at Patron for your consideration with more added almost daily. I've striven to get the foundation pieces out for people like me that just love to go there in November.

The inspiration for this year's collection is inspired by jewel tones and Tahitian pearls. Think Sapphire, Aquamarine, Garnet, Rhodolite, Ruby, Pink Diamond, Amethyst and Amber. I've also designed a Couture Tree, somewhere between a sculpture and a tree, I can't tell you how much I enjoyed the pursuit, perhaps it's evident when viewed. Note, this is not a wearable, drape yourself in front of it, if you can't resist  :P

Another whimsy, my stained glass reindeer resonate warmth. Inexpensive and a brilliant way to playfully extend magnificent bursts almost sunlight into environments, you'll see.

I've switched up to an alternative bow feature on one series of garlands this year,  Black Caviar  and rich cream. They're a little more reserved though hold their own allure to me personally. In conjunction with these I've introduced a Tahitian pearl & Black Caviar tree, unexpected, though for me personally, it's pure elegance.

As I mentioned, a lot more to come, and frequently.

With great affection.
Eliza"

I blog Patron almost every Christmas and some other times because the quality and detail of the products are just gorgeous.  It's a great place to window shop too if you are broke, but I bet you don't walk away empty handed.  The place is filled with realistic and artistic home decor, landscaping, homes, art and the Christmas area is beautiful to see.  The artist in Eliza really shines through her products.  Check it out and enjoy.

A Patron Christmas 2016

Visit Patron here:  http://maps.secondlife.com/secondlife/Patron/128/128/21

Well known SL artists and designer Eliza Wierwight  has some fabulous new Christmas items over at her lovely store "Patron".  I've blogged Patron before as she makes gorgeous products but Christmas is special over at Patron.  It's a great place to explore and buy yourself or a loved one some decor or gifts, or even just window shop.  With the windlights dimmed to enjoy the colorful Christmas lights, it can really bring back some Christmas magic.  She has many trees of various sizes, decor, gifts, enchanted statuary, landscaping, homes, art, holiday and non-holiday decoration, etc. You can see her beautiful homes, and regular home decor products in the main store on the same sim. Click directly onto one of my pictures to be taken to my Flickr to see more images or just tp to her place and have a look for yourself as there is so so much more.   Here is my blog post regarding her latest home, the Banyan:  http://karasecondlife.blogspot.com/2016/03/patron-banyan-house-just-because-kimbra.html

From Eliza's own profile I quote: "The Christmas & Holiday Store at Patron is now officially open, with truly exquisite items being added daily. I loved every moment designing and wrangling these pieces, and I believe the life of that effort resonates. Please feel most welcome to visit, and as a final note I highly recommend you view the animated and lighted creations in both midday and midnight.
Magic ........

Patron Banyan House & Just Because Kimbra Gown-Two Class Acts

So, as you know, I don't frequently blog products and when I do it's either at the request of a friend and is something I like or occasionally there is just something I totally completely love that I feel the need to blog and share with anyone I can. This happens to be one of those must blog moments for both this build and this gown.  For a class act, quality, and beauty I'm blogging here the Patron Banyan House by Eliza Wierwight and the Just Because Kimbra gown by Annie Melson.   Scroll to the bottom for the pics. : )

Eliza Wierwight is very well known for her elegant home décor, art, and landscaping and she's combined these three skills with this latest release, her Banyan House.   Their info. states in part, "The PATRON Banyan House Original Edition, currently seen on the Time SIM Inworld, is ideally suited for customers that have a full SIM or Homestead. Though this version of the Banyan House will fit on 25% of a full region, it's a tight fit on the borders."  They also offer a reduced footprint version for smaller spaces.  Hopefully you can see by the pictures the highly detailed home features with many open air room spaces.  The special features really add a lot as well including a moving night sky ceiling piece in the elegant bedroom, an Imagination room that hints of 50 Shades of Grey and an offering of future modules to be released for room options, and there are many wonderful little things and places to find that took me a couple trips to find.  It's a class act through and through with no-pose ball animation system, butler system that summons a range of activities right where you desire, wonderful full landscaping, sounds, and the full experience.  You can see many of the special features on their blog site. Eliza said the demo house will be on it's current location for about 4 more weeks then move to the Patron sim area. The landscaping is truly impressive and offers great scenery looking out of the windows as well as for outdoor enjoyment including beach and waterfall areas, decorator pool, and various water décor areas in and around the home.   If you aren't in the market for a new home, this place is worth a visit just to explore and see and enjoy, and you might find that you are in the market after all, as it's just that great!

Next I'd like to feature the beautiful Kimbra Gown by Just Because that is currently offered at the Uber event.  This gown is so fantastic I bought the fat pack hud so that I can have all colors.  Not only does it fit easily and perfectly, it looks amazing with a great cut that is extremely sexy yet classy at the same time with it's low back and curves in all the right places.  The textures and design are great and the price is right so I highly recommend this gown.  On a side note Just Because also just released a very cute Lucie tank top in multiple styles over at FaMESHed too! So you might want to check out these two events for these products then head over to the Just Because main store for more great shopping.  I'm wearing the gown in some of the below Banyan House pictures.  Note: the DeLa Lorena hair I have on also can be found at Uber.

35 Elephants Art Immersive at LEA - Copy to Kara by Kara 2

Eliza is on a role and has sent her first check for the elephants!  Great job Eliza and SL residents!
elephant_005 by Kara 2
LEA4 now hosts "35 Elephants" scheduled to open this Saturday with live music and events.  This is a temporary build by Eliza Wierwight over at LEA in conjunction with her recent efforts to raise the funds to save 35 Asian elephants that have been abused into labor.  I previously blogged about her goals and she is all over Facebook and SL closing in on her goals, but there is still quite a ways to go to sponsor all 35 elephants she has taken on, and needs the help of SL residents. Go visit the cool exhibit, as Eliza is a great artist in her own right, and then hop on over to Patron where you can donate or purchase one (or more) of her cute topiary elephants with 100% of the proceeds to go toward this goal.  Her products are a delight and this particular one is for a good cause.

Each Christmas I blog Elia Wierwight's Patron, a home decor and art area that is absolutely magical.   Last year I went on and on about her Christmas trees and special garlands and beautiful free wreaths among other things.  She has beautiful items for year round decorating, but I especially get excited over her Christmas items.  This year she has all that, the outdoor gallery, plus so so much more that is just so perfect for decorating, but she taken on a cause this year.  So, I will focus on her cause this year while showing a few pics of her place so you can see just how special it all is.

Eliza was watching a documentary with her child and got inspired to help out a cause.  You can read it all in a touching note, "An Elephant's Tale",  she includes at her sim in the information givers associated with this fund raiser.  To make a long story short she designed special elephant Christmas topiary that can be purchased for one's self or gifted that gives 100% of the sale to "Save the Elephant Organisation/Foundation".

★Buy one gift boxed "Save The Elephant at PATRON Holiday Topiary." for yourself, buy lots and gift the ultimate legacy  to a friend, make a donation, bit by bit we can do this over the next month.
★ Tell your friends, spread the word.
★To sponsor an SEF Elephant costs USD$ 109.20.
★That's approximately L$27,000 per elephant.
★That's 54 donation/sales at L$499 each of the Save The Elephant at PATRON Holiday Topiary per elephant sponsorship.
★Now we multiply that by 35 Elephants which is the current sponsorship goal.
★We can do it !!!
★In fact I have already sponsored one elephants all by myself  (actually with my son because he'd be sad if he wasn't involved)
★Meet the rest of 'our' elephants and read about their journeys to Elephant Nature Park

Patron Newness!

Visit here: http://maps.secondlife.com/secondlife/Patron/128/128/38

Patron has many new things and I popped in to have a look.  The owner/creator, Eliza Wierwight, was around so I had a nice little chat with her about some of her new products.  The Patron store is a delight itself just to see and visit and the new topiary and florist arrangements are so vibrant and beautiful.  I talked with Eliza a little about her work as I have in the past and wanted to ask her again about something I thought I remembered her once telling me.  She confirmed she does all her work by hand on a laptop and trackpad and draws with her finger, no mouse.  She's only ever owned laptops and said if she used a desktop she couldn't move her working life around it. She is currently in the process of building a bonsai deck off one side of the main building and went on to say she's fine with "putting in the work to reinvent or enhance areas but at the same time won't kill off the build, as it's like coming home for most of her customers."  Eliza does have many regular customers.  I move around SL a lot and told her I see her works all over the grid.

I wandered around out in the gardens and yards and gallery some too.  Besides all the new things in the main store she also recently released her Secret Garden Environmental artefacts kit. There are many small changes and additions all over.  I took a few pictures of some of the new things and one of the main attractions is the Lakeme (topiary lady) which is named after the opera http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8Qx2lMaMsl8 and Eliza's smiled and said, "... had a lofty moment while creating her".  It's never boring with Eliza.  Time for another visit and while there check out all the new items then don't miss her outdoor gallery which to me is like an explore in itself, her household furniture and food items, clothes, art works, landscaping and the whole area.  Direct link above.

Visit here: http://slurl.com/secondlife/Patron/83/152/22
Untitled by Kara 2
My generous and busy friend, artists, designer and builder, Eliza Wierwight, is at it again.  This time she made an amazing product for a good cause with 100% of the sales going to a fund raiser.  In her own words: "Sunday Laks approached me asking if I would create a "Christmas Tree Dress" that could be used to fund raise for SOS Children's Villages International. How could I say no.   I had great fun making it and couldn't settle on one look, so you get a lot  of goodies with the dress  that means there is  a genuinely high level of customization potential . Everything from Naughty to Nice and in between.  We hope you have fun with it and thank you so much for supporting SOS Children's Village Foundation with your purchase of these gown/s. We'd love to make as much money as possible over the Season so tell your friends ! Just now available at PATRON. PLEASE come by and buy one. Last holiday season I lauded the Patron holiday decorations and this year I couldn't resist running over to see the Christmas trees again.  Eliza Wierwight has plenty of her Christmas decorations up already along with all her other beautiful home decor, houses, art, gifts, etc., with promises of more to come.  I love that her work is so detail oriented and I guess that is what we get from a true artist.  I can't resist her things.   Be sure to visit for some beautiful products or just to have a look, as you don't want to miss these amazing trees.

Her most recent note card reads in part...." In your PATRON 2012 Christmas Tree box you will get not one,  but TWO VERSIONS of the PATRON Classic Christmas Tree Editions 2012.

There is the HERITAGE STYLE  which is slightly more conservative at 18 prim. Also the ULTRA STYLE  (as seen displayed at PATRON SIM)  which has different twinkle lights and more ornamentation at  19prim.

Those Customers who wish to go all out and love lots of bling I've included particle balls to hide inside your trees (or anywhere for that matter) which will shower the areas in my hand made silver or gold stars. I have supplied these in  four ranges /sizes. I hope this will ensure  that everyone's potential custom requirements are met.

★ PERMISSIONS★
All content supplied has Copy Permissions.
Christmas Trees come boxed  in size as seen displayed at PATRON.
They  can then be easily RESIZED  from tiny to MEGA (30M ) and of course all sizes  in between."

The note goes on to say pricing stays the same as last year in spite of her many hours of work put into the trees, resizing is in the skirt for a variety of perfect sizes for any event or build, and lighting and effects can be adjusted.  There is even a Flickr photo contest with prizes.  Check it all out!

The PATRON House-New Release

Visit here:  http://slurl.com/secondlife/Patron/80/235/30

"When an Artist designs a home..."

Eliza Wierwight, a well known SL artist, has just released her latest masterpiece, this time in the form of the PATRON house.   Not only is Eliza an exceptional artist, she is an exceptional builder and she has some of the loveliest things available in SL.  Her eye for style and detail is reflected in her works, and I know people line up to get her new releases.  Line up is not exactly the word, maybe nag is more fitting. (yes, I've witnessed some nagging.... even participated in some naggin myself last Christmas when I wanted some of her gorgeous garland she used for decoration then put for sale after so many people begged to buy it) It amuses but doesn't surprise me to learn people pre-order her products sight-unseen.  Eliza has a huge showroom full of  a variety of beautiful items,  a large outdoor gallery and several homes available for sale, so you would think that would satisfy, but the problem is her products are so good many people buy most of it and hunger for more including this lastest "Patron" work of art.

The newly released PATRON House is sold with copy and modify permissions and is a quality 748 prims with furniture available for sale separately.  The footprint is 115x115 in a rezbox with surrounding landscaping and water features included plus a small retreat island.   Eliza did include some special items such as wall seating, outdoor BBQ kitchen bank, fire pit, sculptures, art, etc.

(above photos taken by Eliza)

The price is L$16,500 and well worth it for this kind of quality and style. The warm woods, all the details, the special sounds and impressive textures add to the class of the home. Some of the various rooms and build areas include the Entry with sculptures, the main room with fireplace etc., and 4 amazing looping sound files that can be turned on or off.   There is a beautiful dining area, butler pantry, and an outdoor kitchen bank.  The home has a spa area with animations, a gorgeous master bedroom and one of the most impressive rooms in the house, the master bathroom.  I have some photos because as the saying goes, a picture is worth a thousand words and I'd need a lot of words to do this place justice. There are steps leading down into the sea and off to the island retreat with a variety of animations, a separate set of environmental sounds,  and a fire pit on slabs.  This really has to be seen to be fully appreciated but Eliza took some pictures for me and I snapped a few candids while on a sneak peek tour.  (my pics below)

                                                                    (Gotta love the details)
My friend Emma and I received a sneak peek prior to release and we all oogled the spacious bathroom with his and hers sinks, stone tub and I was really impressed by the thick stone tiling in the shower stall and on the tub shelf.  It looks so real and damp or "wetish" as Eliza said and when I asked agreed  I could quote her on that impression of the flooring.  I hope she wasn't joking.  Then  she fell out on the floor and I took a photo asking if she is finally resting after making such a beautiful house.  She said it did take her 3 months to build but she had a huge laundry list of SL and RL obligations and interruptions that took time away from building this too.  In the end it's something she can truly be proud of and SL patrons can thoroughly enjoy.
(Here is  Eliza all worn out on her bedroom floor after working so hard on this labor of love house rushing to meet everyone's demands. I bet she didn't think I'd post this one. .hehe)  Anyway .. be sure to see this house, even if you aren't in the market right now as it's a great build to visit.  Fantastic job again Eliza!
