Tumor by Igor Ballyhoo at MetaLES

Visit here:http://maps.secondlife.com/secondlife/MetaLES/128/128/2

Tumor, a sim wide exhibit, is now showing at MetaLES through the end of the month of November.  The landing note by the artist reads: "This work is my acknowledgment of greed for material things of human kind which is so powerful that it is going to cost us our own existence. This is not effort to fight it, it is not made in least hope to change anything, it is just a recording of my observation of human society at this point.
I dedicate this work to person who unknowingly inspired it, one of the richest people alive, woman who made her fortune on coal digging, Gina Rinehart.
Igor Ballyho"

Distrito Distinto at MetaLES

Visit MetaLES Distrito Distinto here: http://maps.secondlife.com/secondlife/MetaLES/128/128/21

MetaLES

Romy Nayar and Ux Hax curate MetaLES which I've blogged many times before.  I had to google the name of the latest exhibit, of course lol (yes I just admitted that publicly).. and Distrito Distinto  means Different Districts.  This round they feature the works of 10  great SL immersive artists Betty Tureaud, Giovanna Cerise, JadeYu Fhang, Maya Paris, Cica Ghost, Rebeca Bashly, Bryn oh, Romy Nayar, Eupalinos Ugajin, and Alpha Auer.  They are all a lot of fun to see.  You have to grab a free hud ticket and accept or allow it to move you around which you do using the UI hud note and a drop down listing each artist.  Be sure to see them all as they don't take long to get through and are really a lot of fun. Set your lights as directed and don't forget to click on things, walk through things, etc.. they really are immersive.

Sparkys by Romy Nayar at MetaLES

Visit here: http://maps.secondlife.com/secondlife/MetaLES/128/128/21

Update:  Ok, I was there a day before it opened.. and since then, things are adjusted (notecards might now be working?) and ready for visitors, and Ziki Questi and Honour McMilla have it all figured out so I'll direct you to their blogs for more info.:
http://zikiquesti.blogspot.com/2015/03/sparkys.html
and  https://honourmcmillan.wordpress.com/2015/03/14/the-genius-of-romy-nayars-sparkys-in-second-life/

Apparently at this point if you join the group you use the paints you can get at the exhibit for free and go into mouselook to color all over.  Ok, now you can read more about this cute, fun sim....

I found today an interesting mostly greyscale whimsical build by Romy Nayar over at MetaLES.  This odd assortment of cute figures on platforms on sticks is connected with planked bridges and traveled by trains, balloons, elevators, and umbrellas.  There are little buildings  and the uppermost level has some very fun dark trees with moving abstract parts along with various characters.

Romy Nayar is a young Spanish sculptor living in Paris France, last I knew, who has exhibited at MetaLES at least a couple times before.  This build is, like I said, almost exclusively greyscale with the exception of pots of paints and a veggie, and possibly something else I missed too.  But if you visit "Tendedera mercadillo" you are able to click the paint oil and obtain them.  The notecards for them are not yet working but I'm guessing we will be able to color with them.

Oddly Igor Ballyhood apparently just had an exhibit there a few days ago which was also a black and white build representing the pirate bay "Piratebay by Igor Ballyhoo , MetaLES (166, 120, 42) - Moderate that I though was for 2 months, but perhaps I missed it.  I will have to look into all this further once someone is around that I can chat with or I can get a note or more info. about it.

In the mean time I took some pics in Sparkys.

MetaLES & Alki .....Two Great Weekend Explores

This weekend I have 2 very different explores to show here.

Visit MetaLES here: http://maps.secondlife.com/secondlife/MetaLES/128/128/27
The first is a MetaLES which is done up this time by Romy Nayar.  Thanks to my friend Divi for the tip to go check it out.  I really liked wandering around this dark, eery "El Laberinto Perdido" Their message at the entrance says...."If you decide to delve into the Lost Labyrinth, your deepest fears and defects will take your control . You will live them again and again and again and...again...
No one has gotten out ..."  I like this explore because it has a bit of a challenge as you have to find your way through the labyrinth looking at sort of little vignettes as you go.  Be sure to click on things too as I picked up a few items not the least of which were some very cool masks. One I show here in a picture.  A few tips... be sure to enable sim lighting at the gate and turn your sounds way up. I won't say too much or spoil the magic any more just go see for yourself.

This sim owned by Zoidyn Kytori  is very different from the prior in that is a beautiful very sweet touchy feely sim with all the beauty and fun things to play on and do I always enjoy.  I have a homestead I'm working on myself atm and it has some of the same type of stuff.  Be sure to click pose, play, and enjoy the beautiful scenery. They even have the Z&A coffee shop and gallery area and events there and in a few other areas.  It's highly details and amazing they can fit so many prim in the place.  The mainland is a scenic wooded area with a side beach, zip line, hot air balloon, boats, water slide, events areas, game room, and much more, then up in the teleport areas you can race cars, enjoy some space lab hang out and other type of things.  This place is very fun and beautiful.. check it out.

Explore Second Life- Some Great Explores for The Weekend

A few more recent explores I've been enjoying.... 'hope you like.

Visit here: http://maps.secondlife.com/secondlife/Hoshi%20Island/128/128/45
First I visited MadPea's Room 326 Hunt that starts in a rainy sim that is a cool explore on it's own actually. You buy the MadPea hud for 50L in the newsstand in front of the hotel and find room 326 where your profiles are hidden.  Its a "who done it" mystery that leads hunters through some fun SL stores for further clues that end at the Madpea Carnival sim that is an amazing explore than I've previously visited and blogged. If you have patience enough to find all the clues you can win a prize, but I can't tell you what it is as obviously I DON"T have the patience for that because some of the clues were hidden very well and one sim was temporarily down. madpea Room 326 Hunt Hoshi Island by Kara 2
Discover the mystery of the Silent Peacock Hotel (shown here) when 15 people spending the night there disappear.  Very cool sim, fun explore (hard hunt but good stores) ending at Madpea Carnival.   Visit the carnival here: //maps.secondlife.com/secondlife/MadPea%20Base/128/128/35

Next stop is the adorable Cheeky Tiramisu Cafe and Forest owned by Yasyn Azemus.  I was fortunate enough to meet the owner and snapped a pic in the Cafe then took pics outside in the gorgeous sim.  A fantastic photo opp area.

Caledon Brigadoon is a beautiful place to explore especially right now in their winter time.  Visit here: http://maps.secondlife.com/secondlife/Caledon%20Brigadoon/128/128/23

This area has a lot to offer and I previously blogged about their mysterious disappearing village.  See more here: http://karasecondlife.blogspot.com/2011/07/visit-here-httpslurl.html
I always thought that was such an amazing story and place.

Next stop Dryland: http://maps.secondlife.com/secondlife/Mado/128/128/27
Dryland by Kara 2
Jump off the diving board into the giant sand clown's navel to suspend in utero.  Note he juggles sperms?  Walk the high wires and pic up some super cool freebies.  Pallina64 Loon's "Woops... A Baby" is a very fun, interactive, and interesting explore.  The dryland also hosts other things including an art exhibit with some of SL's fav artists.

LEA10 is also a current worthy explore, "Tears in Rain": http://maps.secondlife.com/secondlife/LEA10/128/128/2
I wasn't completely sure what was going on so had to go back to the destination guide for a quick hint about the place that actually is super cool to look at.  Destination guide says, "New Media Art intervention inspired in the book Tears in Rain, by Rosa Montero. 3 Stages  as 3 windows to near future, future of 2109 and far future: Making of a Replicant, 2109 and Alien Humanity."  So there you go. But then I found the landing information.  ByNoke Yuitza, " PROJECT SUMMARY
TEARS IN RAIN: Like an echo, thousands of people connected leave each day behind them a trail that remains in cyberspace while they are AFK# or Away From Keyboard. And this expands and grows greedy fueled by the social technologies of our Digital Era."

Visit here: http://maps.secondlife.com/secondlife/MetaLES/128/128/25And finally I went back to MetaLES which has changed a whole lot lately and now is home to Tims Dreams by Romy Nayar,  that takes you on a winding wild dreamy path.

It's late and I'm sleepy.. enough exploring for now. I'm headed to bed. Perhaps now I'll have dreams like Tim.  Enjoy!

Explore Second Life, Izzies, MetaLES, Solandria, & Nordan Art

I've hit up a few new good explores lately thanks to my friend Cafi Rang turning me on to some additional SL blogs to follow.
**************************************************
Visit Izzie's here: http://slurl.com/secondlife/Izzies/128/121/31 or direct link here: IzziesHere.

The first explore is actually a shopping place too. Izzie Button has this adorable sim that is just absolutely beautiful with fall colors and makes for wonderful photos. I explored the outdoors for a long time before I ventured into her store and was equally impressed and surprised I had not come upon this store before as it is great! Izzie has quality clothes, skins, accessories, poses, discount area and amazing customer service when I just IM'd her to ask her a few questions. She said her store's been around a couple of years but new to this location since about June. I told her how much I like her products, as they seem to real and fit well. The sweater and necklace I am wearing in this one pic are from her store. Don't miss this whether you just like a great explore or shopping.. well worth the trip.

Visit Aerie here: http://slurl.com/secondlife/MetaLES/226/226/21 or direct link here: MetaLasHere.

This next explore is "Aerie" in MetaLES by Cherry Manga, an exceptional SL artist I can't seem to keep up with. She keeps making and doing so much that impresses me. This is a creative sim to explore.

Visit Solandria here: http://slurl.com/secondlife/Overland%20Hills/54/139/33 or direct link here: SolandriaHere.
Solandria
Solandria is a gorgeous sim for dance, meditation, photos, cuddles, posing, fairies, etc. The sim owner Soleil8 Andel said he has been working on the sim since June and already has a youtube video of the place and facebook group. It is filled with lots of beautiful flowers and scenery, straylights, garden and forest areas as well as beach areas. This might be considered a great date place.

Visit Nordan Art Gallery Here:http://slurl.com/secondlife/Nordan%20om%20Jorden/138/51/2502 or direct link here: NordanHere.

Nordan
This last explore is actually Nordan Art Gallery I've blogged before but I wanted to add this as Rebeca Bashly who has "Inferno" at LEA (a few posts back I show a video and pics I made) put up a sort of Haunted area at Nordan that will only be up through October 31st, so don't miss it. While there check out the gallery and current artist exhibits on the ground level as well. Nordan always has impressive exhibits.
