Sparkys by Romy Nayar at MetaLES

Visit here: http://maps.secondlife.com/secondlife/MetaLES/128/128/21

Update:  Ok, I was there a day before it opened.. and since then, things are adjusted (notecards might now be working?) and ready for visitors, and Ziki Questi and Honour McMilla have it all figured out so I'll direct you to their blogs for more info.:

Apparently at this point if you join the group you use the paints you can get at the exhibit for free and go into mouselook to color all over.  Ok, now you can read more about this cute, fun sim....

I found today an interesting mostly greyscale whimsical build by Romy Nayar over at MetaLES.  This odd assortment of cute figures on platforms on sticks is connected with planked bridges and traveled by trains, balloons, elevators, and umbrellas.  There are little buildings  and the uppermost level has some very fun dark trees with moving abstract parts along with various characters.

Romy Nayar is a young Spanish sculptor living in Paris France, last I knew, who has exhibited at MetaLES at least a couple times before.  This build is, like I said, almost exclusively greyscale with the exception of pots of paints and a veggie, and possibly something else I missed too.  But if you visit "Tendedera mercadillo" you are able to click the paint oil and obtain them.  The notecards for them are not yet working but I'm guessing we will be able to color with them.

Oddly Igor Ballyhood apparently just had an exhibit there a few days ago which was also a black and white build representing the pirate bay "Piratebay by Igor Ballyhoo , MetaLES (166, 120, 42) - Moderate that I though was for 2 months, but perhaps I missed it.  I will have to look into all this further once someone is around that I can chat with or I can get a note or more info. about it.

In the mean time I took some pics in Sparkys.

MetaLES & Alki .....Two Great Weekend Explores

This weekend I have 2 very different explores to show here.

Visit MetaLES here: http://maps.secondlife.com/secondlife/MetaLES/128/128/27
The first is a MetaLES which is done up this time by Romy Nayar.  Thanks to my friend Divi for the tip to go check it out.  I really liked wandering around this dark, eery "El Laberinto Perdido" Their message at the entrance says...."If you decide to delve into the Lost Labyrinth, your deepest fears and defects will take your control . You will live them again and again and again and...again...
No one has gotten out ..."  I like this explore because it has a bit of a challenge as you have to find your way through the labyrinth looking at sort of little vignettes as you go.  Be sure to click on things too as I picked up a few items not the least of which were some very cool masks. One I show here in a picture.  A few tips... be sure to enable sim lighting at the gate and turn your sounds way up. I won't say too much or spoil the magic any more just go see for yourself.

This sim owned by Zoidyn Kytori  is very different from the prior in that is a beautiful very sweet touchy feely sim with all the beauty and fun things to play on and do I always enjoy.  I have a homestead I'm working on myself atm and it has some of the same type of stuff.  Be sure to click pose, play, and enjoy the beautiful scenery. They even have the Z&A coffee shop and gallery area and events there and in a few other areas.  It's highly details and amazing they can fit so many prim in the place.  The mainland is a scenic wooded area with a side beach, zip line, hot air balloon, boats, water slide, events areas, game room, and much more, then up in the teleport areas you can race cars, enjoy some space lab hang out and other type of things.  This place is very fun and beautiful.. check it out.

Explore & More, Second Life

Anita Witt Photography with "Magic Frogs" by Romy Nayar. This place has a lot of cool art plus I thoroughly enjoyed the Magic Frogs exhibit outside that features some interactive spots where you can get trapped in a jar by a giant frog, read with another, ride snails in a snail race or sit back and watch the frogs with umbrellas fling high into the air. There is also a story and game you can play having something to do with finding hats, but I didn't get to that so check it out for yourself.

Pahute

So maybe I WAS feeling a bit lonely and decided to go exploring for a while again. I popped into Ian Pahute's "The Lonliness of Being" to check it out and actually there were a LOT of people there. Ian, the sim owner and creator, was around and I asked him how long this sim had been up to which he replied, "It's been here a couple of years", but just got featured on destination guide. "Its normally quite quiet and contemplative here. But having lots of visitors is nice."

Upon landing you can't help but notice a large mountain beyond some water that has words all around in multi-colored lettering then notice on the base in front it says, " The Loneliness of Being is a contemplative and live installation by artist Ian Pahute. The cloud compromises a thousand ever-changing words. Drawn live from the Internet (Twitter and Newsfeeds), the could is always evolving, always reflecting the now. Some see nothing more than foggy letters. Others see hidden meaning and personal insight. Come. Contemplate"

I visited BoHo Hobo to see the cool colored lamp sewers. I was just there shopping for awesome Boho clothes not long ago so it was fun to run around in the sewers this time. I even ran into the owner/designer, Trill Zapatero. Visit here: http://slurl.com/secondlife/Trillia/205/25/2118 or direct link here: BoHoHoboHere.
