Explore Some More in SL

If you follow my Flickr you've seen these places I've visited already, but I've been told from some who visit Kara's Korner it's just here where they find explores... so here goes some more that I have really enjoyed recently besides some of the ones I write up with more detail.

MASSIVE ATHAKS, at Outlaw Island. Steampunk with cool scenery and very cute shops. Main large shop loaded with quality Steampunk clothes etc. Also don't miss the rest of the sim beyond the mountains.
Visit here: http://slurl.com/secondlife/Outlaw%20Island/128/128/21 or direct link here: ATHAKSHere.

Fungus... super cute with wonderfully colored tall grasses, mushrooms, shops, dwellings, pose places and a GAME too. Be sure not to miss following some or all of the game to find more cool places and freebies and stuff or at the very least don't miss camming or finding your way underground.. big hint! : ) This pic doesn't do the cuteness of the place justice and on top of that I had blond hair uggg... but visit anyway.. worth it. http://slurl.com/secondlife/Fungus/156/120/48 or direct link here: FungusAmongUsHere.

This one is on the Banana Split sim and it's called something Forest, which I have forgotten but it's very very pretty, great for photos, exploring, fairies and dates. It also has a underground level, dance spots, posing, etc. Very pretty place. Visit here: http://slurl.com/secondlife/Banana%20Split/128/128/18 or direct link here: BananaHere.

Another Sextan sim, maker of now gone Nemo. This is another awesome steampunk explore with several islands and steampunk shops with quality freebies as well as amazing Sextan items to purchase if desired. Be sure to check this one out here: http://slurl.com/secondlife/Liberty%20Cove/130/58/38 or direct link here: LibertyHere.

Gilmour is gorgeous. They have suggested windlight which I took once for a golden glow and other I declined in leu of my own choices. It's amazing for windlight photos of all kinds, has 4 magic doors that lead to 3 pretty places for dancing, etc and one creepy place, on the main land there is a little island attached with a hanging bridge with a pose piano, there is a tenting area with um.. cool couples posese inside, amazing trees, lights, birds, etc. As with some of the above explores I wish I took more scenic pics to show, but narcisistic me photos mostly myself. check it out here:http://slurl.com/secondlife/Gilmour/90/116/21 or direct link here GilmourHere.

Alpha Point
Alpha Point. Flashback to an oldie but a goodie here since some things have changed. Just an overall great explore and place to play, look, photograph and shop. Enjoy the elephants and ghosts! : ) Check it out here: http://slurl.com/secondlife/Alpha%20Point/63/43/73 or direct link here: AlphaPointHere.

Explore Second Life

I've been finding some cool new and updated explores.

Nordari
Nordari has been around for a while, but it's updated and it's simply beautiful for pictures. Explore here:http://slurl.com/secondlife/Lusiadas/228/132/21 or direct link here: NordariHere.

Tableau is a fun sim with beautiful detail, fun shops and also great for taking pics. Check it out here: http://slurl.com/secondlife/Tableau/193/149/23 or direct link here: TableauHere.

Dark Moon
Darkmoon slurl.com/secondlife/Dark%20Moon/181/159/21 Another amazing place to explore. I wanted to show as much of the sim as possible.. but didn't get all the cool stuff in a shot to do it justice. There are hidden places and pose balls and the landing spot sign provides a helpful notecard. The ground is way more beautiful than this shows, but I had to focus lights on the sky or ground so went with the sky for this shot because of the weird floating plant island thingys. Check this place out.

Roan, owned by my Flickr friend Wildangel, is updated with upper garden type areas and lower water and underwater areas to enjoy. This sim is gorgeous with tons of poses, dances, and things to see and do. Check it out here: ROAN (36, 96, 21)
(I'll have to add the SLurl or direct link later but you can find it with that if you like)Here it is: http://slurl.com/secondlife/ROAN/146/141/26 or direct link here: RoanHere

Cap Estel
Cap Estel has turned Safari so be sure to take the giraffe ride tour then drop into the gorge in the middle to find a super cool area filled with hippos in water and some gorillas by a very cute cafe. Visit here: http://slurl.com/secondlife/Cap%20Estel/29 or direct link here: CapEstelHere.

Zed-Wide World Paradise, Dali inspired

This is a totally cool sim. check it out here: http://slurl.com/secondlife/WideWorld%20Paradise/183/157/22 direct link here: ZedHere.
Wideworld Paradise Zed

The note card says: "Welcome to ZED, a surrealist experience!

The design of this sim was inspired in great part by the artwork of several well-known surrealist painters, mainly René Magritte and Salvador Dali, and on some designs by the famous Spanish architect Antonio Gaudi. Many of the 3D scenes you will see are my own 3D renditions of their paintings ; others are my own creations. In the Sky Gallery (􀂑 ) you will see the paintings that inspired my work.

Feel free to fly and explore. You can use the large Teleport Board at the landing point to visit different areas. There are also secret places that are not accessible via this large board. The more adventurous will have fun finding them on their own. You can also use the special doors to get to those secret places.

ZED is dedicated to romance and art in a surrealist, poetic ambiance. There are many places for chatting and dancing with your partner or friends. Some are designed for small groups, others for couples. There are also two places dedicated to group tai chi.
Do not hesitate to left- or right-click some objects, this is how you can find those TPs that lead t secret places ;-)

Occasionally we will have parties with some of the best DJs in SL playing great Techno and House music at Club Zed."

"Second Pool"
"An installation by Oberon Onmura
I created this "Second Pool" in memory of Sabrinaa Nightfire, who asked me to do a piece for her show "Enter ..." at Caerleon about a year ago. That piece turned out to be a pool, as well, different in many regards, but similar as a place of contemplation and peace.

Click the blue cubes at the corners for a transporter orb to the bottom. Watch out for the swimming things. Even though they look fragile, and many of them die before reaching their goal of escaping the pool, they can give you a strong bump if they happen to touch you.

Thanks to Dividni Shostakovitch for commissioning this work at Split Screen Installation Space!

"MIND THE GAP"
Let's do this in the dark
Midnight is best + you'll need computer-sound ON + your animation over-ride (AO) OFF.
**There are 3 interactive levels. Take your Dandelion Crown when you hit the bottom.
*LEVEL 1- LONG DROP: Click the UP teleporter disc on the water, then peer through the clouds, and click a Ball and Chain.
*LEVEL 2- DANDELION RISE:
CLICK :The winged Dandelion
Another ball and chain will take you down
or....Walk on water until you hear a splash
*LEVEL 3- CORONATION POND:
Find your Dandelion Crown
Break the glass ( will cost you $0L for damages)
Wear it and BLOW
(The vegetation's worth a click too)

*As the world's media prepare to swivel their lenses away from the serious issues of the day, and focus them on an anachronistic royal-showbiz wedding.......

**LONG LIVE THE MAGNIFICENT COMMON WEED***
Please take your crown off when you go to Oberon's Pool, he'll have my guts for garters if we fill it up with fluff....and if you look hard you can find a way to tunnel through. Click twice.
A big thank you to Dividni Shostakovich for inviting us to show here this month. It's been fantastic and has improved my digging no end. Also to Oberon, who can turn a Maya-script into a thing of beauty.

We are at it again!

Split Screen Hosts an Exhibit by Misprint Thursday, "Digital Glove"

splitscreen.jpeg
"SPLIT SCREEN INSTALLATION SPACE: MISPRINT THURSDAY'S "DIGITAL GLOVE" SHOWING IN MARCH

Misprint Thursday's extraordinary piece "Digital Glove," which exploits the capabilities of video in SL and won *four* awards during the University of Western Australia's art contest in February, will be at Split Screen's sky platform this month. Be sure to turn on video when you arrive, or you'll miss the entire thing!"

Split Screen typically hosts two artists who spend about a month preparing their large immersive/environmental artwork then show for a month. There are two artists working on this now, but in the interim Split Screen is fortunate to host "Digital Glove" a must see.. Check it out here: http://slurl.com/secondlife/Beleza/71/202/1501 or direct link here: SplitMisprintHere.

I stopped in this afternoon for a peek at "Digital Glove" and Betty Tureaud, Obvious Schism, and Divi were kinda hanging out while others were down below at Split Screen. I had my media going, so immediately saw the show and hopped on one of the "bikes" to watch the video and listen to the music sung by Misprint. I attached the provided hud and clicked for her additional information notecard and video.

Misprint's card provides information which in part includes the following information: "www.misprintthursday.com

"Digital Glove is a video art installation with an original video and collaborative song with lyrics and vocals by Misprint Thursday. Lyrics
Digital Glove

Who will be my digital glove
My digital glove
My saccharine treacle
Who will be my digital glove
My digital glove
The Hyde to my Jeckyll

One
Two
Three Four
Five
Show me that I'm still alive
Six
Seven
Eight Nine Ten
I want to do it again

I know it's sickening
Sickening sweet
When you knock me off my feet

Come on and knock
Oh oh do it again

Fairy and Elf Talk

A good Flickr/SL friend and I decided we will take whoever wants to go along for the ride with us while we explore and play around the grid.
