The Follow Album Launch Party - K
The Follow album launch party has started. Hurry here at Ground Zero Music and Art venue if you want to get in...http://maps.secondlife.com/secondlife/Eyefliez/128/128/18
Check out their official web page here: https://thefollow.bandcamp.com/album/k
There are 107 people here on this 2 sim area now but if you get in you will hear some great music and enjoy good company. The Album is called "K" and was released this past Thursday. They just started and are already playing new music off the album. If you miss the show, visit The BOSL holiday edition where my friend Sonicity Fitzroy featured them (about halfway through the magazine) here: http://magazine.thebestofsl.com/the-best-of-sl-magazine-december-2014/
The press release states, "SAVE THE DATE! THE SL LAUNCH OF THE FOLLOW'S NEW ALBUM!
7PM SATURDAY 1/17/15!
Join the Follow at Ground Zero 7pm, Satuday January 17th, as they launch their new album. The Follow's new album is saturated with heart, tears, and struggle within its very fabric balanced with dreams, faith, and hope. After the loss of the lead singer's brother to ALS, the band found itself lost for a season. However, the grieving process has blossomed into the new record entitled K. These recordings find The Follow reproducing what its fans have come to love...the energy of the live shows. This album honors life, respects death, and insists on the exploration of the in between"
This band from Columbia Missouri consists of Powers Avon, AJ Darkwatch, and lead singer Troy Shoreland. The band is heading out east for a jam soon so hook up with Jenna Dirval or check their web site indicated above.

The Follow Returns to Second Life 11-21-14 at 6pm SLT
Visit here: http://maps.secondlife.com/secondlife/Dragons%20Meadow/128/128/2
I ran over to PRMC home sim - NO CARS , Dragons Meadow (109, 134, 465) - Moderate where The Following will be playing Friday and ran into Anek Fuchs who actually owns the venue for this show, and his partner built it. The area has a multi-level bike track. I asked how many levels it is as it's hard to cam and tell and he said 3 primary levels, but it winds the rest the way down to ground level so more than 5 and he said it changes a lot. It's a very cool place and looks like fun to ride with tunneled areas and nice landscaping winding around and down. He also told me they will have bike give-aways Friday too, so it should be a great event overall. Powers Avon also showed up to start setting up for the show stage and audience area. The event note card states:
"www.TheFollow.SL is where you can go to teleport to any of our shows With any SIM crash, relocate to The Follow Music Hub until the host SIM recovers
or http://tiny.cc/TheFollow
www..TheFollow.com is our little place on the Internet
http://www.thefollow.com/
Calendar: http://tiny.cc/TheFollowCalendar
The Follow always puts on a great show, so be sure to go early and grab a spot. Take a landmark and try out the public use tracks too! Be sure to check the links as they give information about their new RL album "K" that is scheduled for a Dec 1 release date.
I cammed way out and took a pic of the sim/track but can't do it justice at the distance as it really is beautifully landscaped in there with colorful fall trees, interesting tunnels etc., but at least you can get a feel for how the layers wind round. Anyway, hope to see everyone Friday. It's sound be a great show.

The Follow Lands Back in SL
I'm blogging while listening to The Follow at The Boom Pony Outpost. The invite said:
"¸.•*´¨☆.THE FOLLOW LAND'S BACK IN SL! .•*¨
You're invited to come welcome them home and to celebrate the success of their Texas Tour with us at the Boom Outpost.
THE THEME ---- SPACED OUT!
Space/Fantasy gear preferred but not required. Giveaway prizes and freebies.
"Building Machines To Reach The Stars" is the new release from The Follow. Influenced by U2, Radiohead, and Pink Floyd, The Follow have enjoyed sharing stages with various artists such as Plain White Tâs, Billy Corganâs Zwan, & Gravity Kills.
Come "Reach the stars" with us. It will be a party not to be missed.
Questions? Contact Jenna Dirval, Agent - Kiran Sporg, Boom Pony"
The crowd seemed to hold at over 65 at any given time during the 1& 1/2 hour set. Wonderful avs in all types of spacey and sci fi looks were in the crowd and The Follow actually wore Star Wars clothes. The prizes for The Most Spaced Out looks went to Cindy Bolerro, Desiree Margulis, and Precambrian Fossil. This was a very fun way to party with The Follow.

The Village Launch Weekend
The press release read,
"The Village, Second Life's newest hot spot, will be having The Official Launch on Friday April 29th at 1PM SLT. Owned by Mankind Tracer and Kalli Birman, The Village is modeled after Greenwich Village, NYC of the 1970's and will be home to some of the best couture boutiques Second Life has to offer including House of RFyre, Gizza, Paris Metro, Tres Beau, Bliss Couture, Vogue, Blacklace, Mary Jane Shoes.
The Village is also home to the new underground rock venue, "Club Graffiti". It is inspired by one of the most famous clubs in Greenwich Village, CBGB's and the area where the whole punk movement of the 1970's began. Artists such as David Bowie, The Ramones, Blondie, The Talking Heads and many others made their way through CBGB's to begin a new revolution in music.

Club Graffiti will host weekly shows by top SL musicians. Mankind Tracer, one of Second Life's most well known live performers and co-owner of The Village, will also perform every Sunday night at 9PM SLT.
The launch will be opened by the popular band The Follow at 1pm slt and will continue at 2pm slt with a performance by Mankind Tracer. It is asked that all attendees remove any attachments and scripted objects prior to arrival to help reduce lag.
The sim will open at 12:30PM SLT to allow time for guests to arrive.

I was home from work Friday and actually was able to attend the opening at Graffiti with The Follow and Mankind. They had 96 people at peak during the launch events and are now featured in SL's Destination Guide. The area is adorable with great shopping and a central fountain. I went back for the SLurl and Mankind was there so when I inquired as to who the owner is, he advised he and Kalli Birman are owners. I really like the ambiance of Graffiti with the walls lined with graffiti and posters, funky bathrooms and a large stage area with plenty of standing and casual sitting room for all. This is going to be a rocking venue, so be sure to check it out.
