This looks like a very cool event with some talented artists that will be a RL /SL event, so I'm sure it will be fun to see who shows up and what they will be wearing as well as enjoying the show. The press release states:

"The show features artists Morgana Nagorski, Kato Salyut and Sledge Roffo.
Morgana has been working with the gallery owner for some time putting this show together.

The opening event will be streamed onto a big screen in the RL gallery . . . so dress in your most glamorous or most weird and wonderful and come and join us and strut your stuff so there is something imprtessive to be seen on that RL screen."

The Best of Second Life Magazine March 2013

This month March 2013 marks the month I was featured in the BOSL magazine. Writer Sonicity Fitzroy has been featuring SL machinimists for about a year now in the publication and this month I was honored to be featured as the Social Machinimist for her article.  So I must brag and show off here of course.  Everyone knows I'm not the greatest at this around or even in their league but I do a lot, have fun, often make them for others or to archive something, and include others a lot, so I'll take the article and rejoice in it.  Soni is an amazing writer both in SL for a variety of publications and is a published author RL with numerous publications on a variety of subjects, most notably in SL for her 2 books "Second Life Media and the Other Society", and also "Machinima: The Art and Practice" (http://www.amazon.com/Machinima-The-Practice-Virtual-Filmmaking/dp/0786461713/ref=sr_1_3?ie=UTF8&qid=1362706261&sr=8-3&keywords=machinima).  So she made me look good and Morgana Nagorski, artists, photographer, gallery owner (http://www.ballaratart.com/index.php?pageID=12  and http://maps.secondlife.com/secondlife/Gardenia%20Islands/128/128/2) took some great pics to go along with some clips from a few of my machinima for the article.  Please have a look starting at page 128 here: http://magazine.thebestofsl.com/issues/March-2013  This is such a well put together monthly SL magazine that I hope everyone is very familiar with it.  It can be easily read online at that site or via hard copies inworld.  If anyone would like a hard copy inworld just let me know and I will pass you one.  BOSL also has kiosks all over the grid to vend these free monthly publications.  They cover fashion, events, art, sims, well just about anything in SL that has public interest.  Check it out.. and now a few snips from the magazine here:

And then I located a pic of myself also in the society page collage (pic by Kato Salyut) which is pretty cool.. .. see if you can find me, yourself, or others you know (yeah that's KT down there in the rust colored gown by the N in News)

Steam The Hunt VII March 1st-31st, 2013 -Grid Wide Hunt

Steampunk Hunt by Kara 2
Steampunk Hunt, a photo by Kara 2 on Flickr.
A bit of info. from their note card: "....You are hunting for a Giftie GEAR that is similar to the one which you will see hovering near Hunt Signs.  This one you are looking at is called the HINT GEAR or HINT OBJECT.
Each shop will have a hunt sign within view of where you land.  A "HINT GEAR" (like this one) should be on it or near it, except for those shops that participate in many hunts and may have a separate multiple hint giver.  Look for these!
.....Refer to the blogs for help and interesting articles as well as pictures of some of the prizes:
Please feel free to explore the 12 sims of Mieville!"
This is always a great hunt, so in this their 8th year I'm sure it will continue to impress.  Have fun!

The Gotcha Arcade

The Gotcha Arcade web site and pics of items here: http://thearcadeshoppingguide.com/

The Gotcha Arcade is a SL novelty collector, gambling addict, bargain shopper, and hoarders dreamland.  The beautifully colored and designed games such as skee-ball, pinball, standard arcade containers etc are very well made and so appealing to the eye and ear with their pinging sounds and such. So of course I was there.. along with a million other grey people. Check out the linke for the fun inexpensive items they offer including everything from clothes to leggo type block heads and everything in between. I think everyone has heard about it already so I wont say much other than go and have fun.  I did.  Don't miss the little photo boot outside as it had a hud controler and is fun.

SHUT THE BLING OFF!

OMG! I so hate bling. Ok, I rarely rant here but I am so tired of bling.  I have NEVER liked bling in SL.  I avoid it at all cost. So there I sat at home having a bling conversation with my local self trying all channels 1, 55 and 99 like this, "bling off, /bling off, stop bling, /bling stop, /1 stop bling, shut the bling off,"  and on and on.

I happened to buy some jewelry quite a while back that has bling in it and although I wear it off and on each time I put the necklace on it blings again.  I forget each time I wear it how to turn it off as the command is a little different.  The standard "bling off" does not work for this item.  It is actually, "/1 bling off".  That's hard to remember when I have other bling things I also have to turn off.  I think I need to scrub the bling script out of the few pieces of jewelry I have left that bling. I wonder how many different bling commands designers can come up with to throw me off.  Why not just one? I know there are a few people who still like bling so I don't really have a problem turning mine off each time if I can just keep the commands straight. Maybe they should set the jewelry to have the bling naturally off and those who want it need to turn it on.  That is a better idea.   But personally I don't want to see bling on anyone else either.  Sorry if that offends someone. I had to let it out.

From now on when I put this necklace on I will search my blog for bling, find this post and the proper command, and save myself the headache.  This blog is good for something to me.  I guess this is such an obvious position it didn't need to be said other than for me to vent and save the bling command.... but next rant will most likely be about clicking heel walk sounds. I feel better atm so I'll save that for next time.

FFL PeKaS Gown by Kara 2

I grabbed a few more items off the blogger boards at Fashion For Life and enjoyed taking pictures of this pretty deep blue with lace and floral white trim "Ritta" gown, posing in Chouchou.  The gown boasts a deep lace lined cut down the back leading to a bustle topped with large white flowers and a flowing train down the back.  The front of the bodice also has a floral lace lined dip and the glove tops match with small lacy trim v cut designs.

Stories Unlimited

visit here: http://maps.secondlife.com/secondlife/Imagination%20Island/23/195/23

There are a lot of great writers and story tellers in SL and occasionally I will stop by to listen to some.  There are always a lot of people in attendance.  Crap Mariner is known for his many 100 word stories. I get notices of this sort of thing most likely through something I subscribed through him.  Anyway, I received notice of this Sunday associated events and stopped by Seanchai Library for some Sherlock Holmes Corwyn Allen read.  His smooth voice was so relaxing and nice to listen too. It was a tea time and a family affair.  The rest of the day's schedule listed below.  The venues usually have information for future events.
