Capcat Ragu and Meilo Minotaur have another stage in their Delicatessen Meta Body II sim.  If you have not been keeping up, these two have over time created interesting explores and now in 4 stages a large number of completely free avatars to discover and take along the way.  They encourage photo taking and machinima and have Flickr places to put these.

In stage one harvest your free avatars from the cocoon like pods in the tree.
In stage two grab your free avatars from a dark gallery hall of moving pictures.
In stage three pluck your free avatars from boxes on the side of a building surrounding a sort of being.
In stage four take the free avatars from glowing balls around the perimeter of a large tenticled sealike or alienlike creature.

Sure, once again I don't totally "get" all of the build or avatars, but they are cool and fun to explore and experience.  I'm sure others have different ideas about what it's all about or means or maybe it's just for fun, which it is.  Go and check it out for yourself and enjoy the many sites and freebies to be had.

Porto Delicatessen-Free Meta Body Avatars

Porto

Tonight must be my lucky night for picking up free creative avatars presented by artists in SL. I visited the beautiful, interesting and thought provoking sim Porto, Delicatessen for the umteenth time and somehow I clicked on something magical near the piano island area and tp'd to the platform that holds something like 18 free complete meta avatars for the taking. I had previously seen some of this on Flickr but just got around to getting back to Deli and wow, this is a cool gift from the artists Capcat Ragu and Meilo Minotaur. Check it out here and get yours for free: http://slurl.com/secondlife/Porto/148/118/704 or direct link here: PortoMetaBodyAvsHere.

Meta Body Avatar
(Me as the "rag doll" av)
Their information reads: "Meta_Body
The virtual experience of the body is not exactly an experience of the flesh. These sensations, albeit having a physical sensorial aspect, continue to be experienced in our bodies behind the screen, not in our avatar body. The virtual body is a metaphorical body, all language, therefore open to experimentation and possibility.
In this new project, Meilo Minotaur and CapCat Ragu invite you, once again, to rethink your bodies through your avatars, making available all kinds of skins, shapes, body parts, clothes, etc. All these items will be fully modifiable, shareable and copyable, thus challenging the audience to become creators and also share their derivative work with us, in the All My Independent Women RL exhibition. While the avatars will be available in the Second Life Sim Delicatessen, the pictures and machinimas of the derivative work will be displayed at VBKOE, Vienna, giving a glimpse in RL of the new creative flux, beyond the concepts of author and work of art, happening online."
