It All Starts With A Smile ... And Ends Wednesday May 15th.

Last night I visited the beautiful sim, "It All Starts With A Smile" on Onyx Isle, with a friend and had a little time to look around, then revisited with another friend, Belinda Barnes today. We noticed sim owner Kaelyn Alecto and I spoke with her a bit about the sim, since I fell in love with it right away. Sadly, she advised me that she is closing the sim this Wednesday, May 15, due to tier costs. I'm happy to have had a chance to visit though and she said I could blog it so others can visit before it closes. Upon landing I was in a small village-looking area with a fun pose carousal and ferris wheel on the board walk and a cute coffee shop and other stores, but over the back hill I found a beautiful haven of flower fields, cute and beautiful pose spots all over in the form of a piano plateau, car with mini camper poser, tree house, fairy ring, ruins, and so much more. Bel and I found a nice cabin to explore and pose in and around yet another bend I found a beach area with even more beautiful photo ops and poses. It's very much worth the rush and visit over there before it closes. The Huge lettering on the hill says it all, "Smile"... and you will.

The Adventures of Bel and Soni: Unleashed Dreams, A Steampunk Tale of Untimely Significance

My friend Sonicity Fitzroy who writes for Retropolitan Magazine in SL began writing a serial drama last February 2012 as an exclusive to Retropolitan with all rights reserved to Sonicity Fitzroy and Lowe Runo Productions. Each month since then a new chapter has graced the pages of the magazine and in this month's episode 15, the little girls are growing up much faster than is natural by crossing over into the as yet mysterious realm 13. This creative and exciting story has fresh twists and turns each week with past steampunk, present, and futuristic aspects all woven in. Soni is a RL published author taking her writing skills to a different level with this fiction chapter story.

A couple of times I've sat in as an extra for photos including playing the role of an elderly woman and also that of a man. Sonicity plays herself as Soni and Belinda Barnes has the role of Bel. Bel also takes many of the photos for the series. Their personalities are such that Soni is the brains of the couple and Bel is the brawn and together they are a strong team.

The Retropolitan magazine is a fun periodical in SL and this series has been a great addition that I look forward to continue reading to find out how the rest of their saga unfolds in the future. Don't miss out, have a look at it if you have not already. This is just another creative way stories are played out in SL and shared with others.

New World Enlightenment, Masters of the Singularity

So I visited this wild place and had to share. check it out at the above link which might take you right in the middle of it all. And by "It all" I mean a bizarre, almost maze like, area of various rooms or places that make for a great explore, photo ops, and some fun freebie finds. The giant ant in the tunnels can grab you if you are not careful or you could get stuck in an area (well if you forget to tp back to start) You really have to be a good explorer to find some of the passages to progress and other times you might just fall through some invisible hole in a floor or something. I was confused when I walked out into an upside down area and couldn't get my camera to right things for me until I found the hidden door to move on to another area. Then when I was done I was dropped to a ground level to find a large fun spot with various games, activities and things to play on that was also super fun. Good luck!

Getting back to Berry's memes..... this week it's to write a Haiku about my SL. They go like this: 17 syllables total with lines 5,7,5. Ok, so I can't say I've ever written one before, or maybe back in grade school, but here we go.. mine is quite boring if I don't TRY to be ornery about it all.

The Trap Club has been open a few weeks now and we've been having a blast with regulars such as DJ Calix drawing crowds with some of the hottest house mixes in SL on Thursday evening from 8-10 pm SLT to various live musicians such as Alex Mays, Lindimoo, and Starrfish Ohmai, DJs Thunder, David and Izzy and one of SL's hottest rising stars, LuvSong Writer, AKA: Hamilton Marshall in RL, who stopped in last Thursday and offered to sing a few songs much to our enjoyment! This week he was featured in the SL Enquirer and there is an exclusive interview there, so I'll just direct readers for more details here: http://www.slenquirer.com/2013/05/the-luvsong-writer-one-on-one-with-sls.html A lot has been happening over at The Trap club and lounge in a short time. The club is staffed Tuesday and Thursday evening, Tues. for regular jazz, blues and classic rock 8-10pm SLT and house mixes 8-10 pm SLT on Thursdays with some live music on occasion. Soon we will have additional events and entertainment hours so stay tuned. Club goers have enjoyed seeing themselves on the giant video wall, wallowing in a dancefloor sea of throbbing foam, and riding the 10 passenger motorcycle among other fun things at that trap. During quieter times there is a greedy table, a avatar pinable giant AFK board, or a fun photo booth. Friends tend to drop in off and on any time to stir up something. While visiting be sure to check out the Once Upon A Fairy Tale wedding and events sim. The place is gorgeous and ready for any event. There is also shopping with some exclusives to the sim. Once Upon A Fairy Tale is looking forward to hosting it's first big wedding this weekend for Kate and Bang. Check it all out some time.

Will you marry me? Those are the 4 words many SL women long to hear from their beau. Our own Katherine Starfall heard those words Saturday April 20th from her fiance', Bang, following a long and exciting day of the opening of Once Upon A Fairy Tale wedding and event full sim venue. And of course her answer was yes! Not only are we thrilled for Kate and Bang but for all of our group at Once Upon A Fairy Tale wedding and events sim. Keep reading for information about the sim and photos from some of the opening fun times. You might even catch a pic of yourself or friends below.

The day was filled with exciting entertainment by Isabella Mavendorf and the Serindipity Dancers, DJs Thundergas, Da5id Neiro, Lynn, Izzy, Star, and Krystal. Sim owners and business partners Emma Portilo, Katherine Starfall, Cueball21, and Kara Trapdoor were excited the morning of the opening to learn the sim hit the SL destination guide and editor's picks. The beautiful picturesque sim is a one stop shopping that offers a variety of lovely settings to make any wedding or event a success.

The Once Upon a Fairy Tale sim located at Winter Faire is not only home to gorgeous landscaping and scenery and wedding settings but also is home to various venues for other events such as rez and birthday parties, bachelor and bachelorette parties, reunions, collaring ceremonies, handfasting rituals, self-serve elopements or any event you can dream up. The group intent is to provide individual options and packages to fit an anyone's needs and desires, and while there are many gorgeous settings already available, others will be developed as needed. Emma Portillo was instrumental wth the original idea, development of the sim and business model and is the backbone of the project with significant contribution from all of the team members.

Some of the current sets include a casual tropical destination beach setting, quaint chapel in the valley, trendy and sophisticated library with gorgeous staircase and side banquet areas, Asian garden, open air gazebo elevated high above a waterfall tower, and palatial grand ballroom looking down from the hills above. The ballroom also display some of the many lovely reception and venue creativity available to select.  Not stopping there, fit for royalty, there are even private brides' and grooms' dressing room.

Additionally there is The Trap Club I've previously blogged in various ways that can be used along with wedding packages or individually for other events as needed. The Trap club and lounge will be staffed and offer djs or other live music and entertainment every Tuesday from 7-10pm SLT in a jazz/blues/classic rock styled club and every Thursday from 7-10 pm SLT in a house/club music styled club. Opening week was a blast with some live music and djs that drew an amazingly fun crowd.  The club is a fun hangout and is open to the public during designated club times when staffed and any other times there is not another private event being held on the sim.

As mentioned the sim is a one stop event area that also includes a central courtyard surrounded by the white buildings consisting of the main office (for information and booking), ladies and gentlemen bridal boutiques featuring fine clothing from some of SL top designers such as Tres Beau, Azul, SFD, Sakide, and others with more on the way and as an extra special feature some sim exclusives just for Once Upon a Fairy Tale sales.   Other vendors include name brand jewels, flower arrangements, photography, and gifts. The ballroom and other venues also currently display some of the many lovely place settings available.

Another lovely surprise and addition to the sim is the paddle boat that features a unique, romantic and oh so beautiful cascading tunnel of lights surrounding the boat.   With the waterfall as a backdrop and outdoor boat top setting it makes for an extremely romantic place to hold a ceremony. Huge thanks to Blue Tsuki for the lighting that is truly a work of art. Blue is a well known artist in SL and I first saw a similar yet different tunnel of his lights at an exhibit and fell in love with it. It's a very special place in the sim.

June is fast approaching and is known for the season of weddings and of course any day is a day to party, so keep Once Upon A Fairy Tale in mind for your next event. There is also a special side mission treasure hunt. Find the mystical orbs scattered around the island, after speaking to the well of knowledge.

I enjoyed exploring the ground level of interesting and attractive foliage then the main cyber area as shown in the photo below, then I explored the 7 level towers up through a variety of clublike futuristic settings to the top, where you will find a gift for visitors making it up there. The lights and sounds are fun so be sure to click on things to trigger reactions.

Fantasy Faire in Second Life a Relay For Life Benefit

Epic Toy Factory owned by Mayah Parx/Tinker Toy sponsored the Ravenshard sim in the 2013 Fantasy Faire and I totally LOVED this area. It reminds me a bit of a mix between Whoville and the cool stuff of Nightmare before Christmas with it's Lorax style fluffy topped trees with black and white striped trunks, funky buildings for the FF products with arms and legs and stuff sticking out of the actual buildings, chocolate waterfalls and ponds with boats and straws and a bubble you can pose in, tiny brightly colored fairy/elf areas etc., making it all like a magical dream. Be sure to visit this weekend before the 2013 FF closes for the season and then run on over to the Epic Toy Factory for a ton more fun. This exhibit runs through June 16th, 2013. I have been so busy this weekend, but was able to make it to the Sunday opening party to see the lovely works, greet the artists and snap a few party pics.

Blogger and Press Fun Day!

Today is a great day for bloggers, press and interested parties. First, the Fantasy Faire opens at noon SLT for approved bloggers and press then at 3pm SL, my very own club, event and wedding full sim venue, along with co-owners, Emma, Kate and Cue, is opening up for bloggers to tour the sim and hang out dancing to DJ Kate in the club. Both events open to the public Saturday April 20th. I plan to have a fun full Saturday in SL! Above I took a pic of myself in their Royal Skybox wearing their men's techno magician outfit that I think is cool and fits with the Fantasy Fair theme. This skybox also has nice shadows, design, and textures. Below is their official ad for the Royal Skybox.

The annual Second Life Fantasy Fair is opening Saturday April 20! In the mean time I am playing with this super cool airship from one of the most impressive venders in SL who will be present at the Fantasy Faire in the Lumenaria sim, and is Garden of Dreams, otherwise know as GOD by Kayle Matzerath. Their store is an amazing explore in itstelf with so many magical and amazing builds, and items to decorate a sim such as landscaping, vehicles, furniture, decorations, surroundings, freebies and so much more. GOD is also home to the well known Dreamscenes which are wonderful decorated skyboxes of all kinds but I especially love their impressive fantasy styles. As I said, a visit to their huge store area is like a fun explore for me and I grabbed a shot of this same airship there too which is currently featured in their main store.

I flew the airship around my sim and it was a blast. The air ship featured here comes with a variety of movement controls and animations, is easy to drive even for me, and the highly details look makes for this awesome steampunk airship shown here.

Next I checked out their Library Dreamscene which is a large details library rezzer including poses in each of the normal bookshelves, reading animations, display boxes that can open and close, the couch has dozens of cuddle and sex animations, all the chairs have a lot of sit animations including read and write with book and feather, a fireplace with room for 3 people, window sills will cuddles, sex and singles sits. I love the the textures and shadows and details that make it all look so real. Check it out at GOD.
