Chess Wonderland

Visit Chess Wonderland here: http://maps.secondlife.com/secondlife/Egypt/128/128/22

I visited Chess Wonderland, an adult sim in Egypt 44,24,21 owned by LUCKY, lucky3005.mattercaster and I also met the designer, Wise Zenovka,
The sim info. states: ""The Life of Black and White"
Chess is all about black and white trying to conquer each other. There is no grey in chess and same goes for life.
Chess, Fantasy, Wonderland, Alice, Arab, Egypt , Ksa, Syria, Lebanon, UK, Japan, Asia, Oblivion, Photography'

This sim cool to look at and take pics in, and it even has a giant interactive chess board you can play while sitting in some pretty fun chairs : )   Wise told me they have a Flickr group for photos and the sim is now in editor's picks on the SL Destination Guide. The sim build is about 2 months old.  The natural sim lights are a little dark for my photos so in some of the pics I turned them up a little.. but you deff want to see it in their lighting as it brings out all the colors and floaties in the air.

My Fair Lady at Origen's Hollywood Ballroom and Theater

Visit The Hollywood Theater here: http://maps.secondlife.com/secondlife/Hollywood%20Heaven/128/128/22

The above was made by Origen for the 2nd performance of My Fair Lady and by now both shows have come and gone, but I was fortunate enough to catch the 2nd show and just WOW! Origen always does a great job with shows, events, sim landscaping and organizing things for this sim.  I"m always impressed and this show was of the same quality standard.  My friend Isabelle Mavendorf choreographed and the sets, dances, and costumes were so entertaining along with the sound track of the show/musical.  They plan to have future shows so keep the landmark for their events and shows and just an overall great sim experience.  I took a few pictures myself to share here.

Raglan Shire Art Walk

Visit Raglan Shire here: http://maps.secondlife.com/secondlife/Raglan%20Shire/128/128/23

I checked out the annual Raglan Shire Art Walk that has some great art to enjoy.  I also had fun riding their Caterpillar transport through the exhibit for lag-free viewing  They are celebrating 10 years in SL.  If you are not familiar with Raglan Shire, this is the very popular multi-sim area for the tinies which are small, usually animal-type avatars who are very well organized with many events and community in SL.  Everyone is welcome, so check it out and be sure to look over their other events.

Mid Atlantic 2017 Jam May 18-21

Visit the official Mid Atlantic Jam web page here: https://slmidatlanticjam.wordpress.com/

and the Facebook page here: https://www.facebook.com/groups/SLmidatlanticjam/?fref=nf

**Live stream link (which includes video of various singers when they are not up live) https://livestream.com/gwampa/jam

The Mid Atlantic Jam is in full swing now so use the above links if you want to have a peek at what some of our most loved SL live musicians are doing in real life together on the east coast in Baltimore from May 18-21.  This is a regular happening now with live jam meet-ups for the musicians and fans in different first life locations.  Some of the musicians have been going to them for years and it's become popular even for those who can't attend to view Gwampa's (Bruce) great live feed video and photos and videos and pics other attendees take and post on Facebook.  I love to voyeur in on them and try to figure out whose who by their voices before names are stated.  It looks like a ton of fun and I'm grateful they allow us to enjoy it from our laptops this way too.

Off to the Races!

Visit Jericho Hill Sports Complex here: http://maps.secondlife.com/secondlife/Jericho%20Hill/114/117/2657

and Red Devil, Rubbin is Racing NASCAR Raceway here: http://maps.secondlife.com/secondlife/Red%20Devil/237/9/2761

(here are a couple of  different video links to the NASCAR final race https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-ryElrqmjko and https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=v3tNkVOxTpc&feature=youtu.be&t=639

A friend, Ryde Thor, invited me to the races and I figured since I've not seen formal car racing before in SL I'd go watch him.  I'm glad I did because it was very fun to watch.  He did well Sunday and Monday and explained to me how to watch for the stats, how some of the racers texture their own vehicles, or have him or others do it for them so they can make them exactly how they want them to look, and more of the details of the races, racers, and cars. He drove one of the stock cars at the Sunday location but took two of his own cars to the NASCAR races Monday.   I was impressed with the driving and only once Sunday saw a car wipe out and another hit it, but they recovered well.  It sounds like some of the guys and gals take their racing pretty seriously and some have known each other or raced each other for a long time on various tracks.  Their racing outfits are cute .. erm I mean .. cool too  Visitors can sit in the stands and watch a fav racer or race.

Of course I'm just a spectator.  NO ONE wants to see me race.. I'd prob knock them all off the track in no time or make my car fly, literally, as I've been known to do, so yeah I'm a spectator. They go fast and hug the track well.  If I raced I'd have to name my vehicle Chitty Chitty Bang Bang and God help the other racers.

The top 3 racers Sunday were Svenja, Biller and Ryde who stood on the winner's podium.  Ryde also placed 3rd in Mondays race out of about 20 racers and he took home a nice trophy for his efforts.   The top racers Monday where:
 1st. Donovan Michalski, 40 laps. Total Time : 820.065
2nd. Kim Link, -4.052 seconds.
3rd. Ryde Thor, -21.718 seconds.
 4th. Toone69 Resident, -1 laps.
5th. Goddess5806 Resident, -1 laps.
6th. Eagle Clawtooth, -1 laps.
 7th. Jimmi Mikado, -1 laps.
 8th. XxDeathLordJasonxX Resident, -1 laps.
9th. Taylor Aerallo, -1 laps.
 10th. LanceBrian Resident, -1 laps.
11th. delightfulcuisine Resident, -1 laps.
12th. Gaberiel Foulsbane, -1 laps.

Someone took the above video and also the 2 linked NASCAR finals video of the event so you can get a feel for it but check it out in person for the full effect. When you hear the engines rev you know it's going to be good.   (Video: RIR: Factory Stocks @ Pocono, 15th May 2017)

As Dale Earnhardt once said: "
"The winner ain't the one with the fastest car; it's the one who refuses to lose." or in this case, maybe the one with the best computer rig.. just saying LOL . .but there obviously is a lot of racing skill involved in all this really.

Fade Away, by Cica ghost

Visit Faded here: http://maps.secondlife.com/secondlife/Noula/128/128/27

This is another cool Cica build that opened May 5th. I found it on the SL destination guide and there is a comment there by Andrew Carvin that states in part....: "the ripples/effects we leave in our wake.Touching places, touching people. Leaving behind little pieces of ourselves to remind others we once were." I like this thought.

And so in this monochromatic sim, under a grey misty sky, and over a cracked dry landscape, the main character seems to fade in and out .. there seems to be symbolized by the ticking clocks and I'm not exactly sure what all is going on here with some creepy trees outside the bedroom window and other interesting things that I'm sure are filled with symbolism, Perhaps death is waiting for the main character to fade away.  Check it out for yourself and decide.. ..

Also the title is taken from a Bob Dylan song  ....."Some people seem to fade away but then when they are truly gone, it's like they didn't fade away at all. - Bob Dylan"
